8 Reasons Why I love the New Asus Zenfone 2
The competition for the Android mobile market all boils down to features, especially for the constant traveler and on-the-go individual. However, the price point is also something that has to be considered. The big players have slipped a little on this factor, paving the way for the less-popular brands to grab a big slice of the middling to low price range. Asus is one of those brands that have performed very well in the last year or so in balancing the needs of the man-on-the-street. It has just come out with the new reasonably priced Asus Zenfone 2 with features that are simply hard to resist. Here are my favorites.
The New Zenfone 2 from Asus
Aesthetics and design of the Zenfone 2
Appearance is of course important, and the Zenfone 2 continues to live up to its name. It is redolent with distinctive concentric circle patterns, and brushed metal finish. It is actually plastic, but it looks sleek and elegant, nonetheless. It is rather large but the back curves slightly, making it easier to grip and operate one-handed. It has a 5.5” screen with a pretty sharp 1920 x 1080p resolution.

Better Camera
It comes with a 13MP rear shooter and dual tone LED flash, but the most important thing is the integration of the much-vaunted Pixelmaster 2.0 technology, which handles low light conditions like nobody’s business. It has Super HDR modes and a respectable depth of field that shoots excellent videos and photos. It is a seriously awesome improvement on previous versions.

The Zenfone 2 also comes with a perfectly function 5MP front camera that caters to selfie enthusiasts. It has the Selfie-Panorama to enable the shooter to include more people in the frame without a problem. It will even ask how many people you want in the frame. It also has a the “Lolli” flash accessory for a better-looking selfie plus the ability to pretty much add any cosmetic touches you want on the fly before posting on Instagram.
Double tap to open and close
The Zenfone 2 makes it easy for a user to activate certain features. With its ZenMotion, you can wake up your phone or put it to sleep by double tapping the screen. Using the double tap on the home button, you can go for the simplified interface or to one-handed mode.
Touch Gestures to open certain app
You can choose to assign certain Touch Gestures to open specific apps. Simply go to Settings > Device to turn on the Touch Gesture. Long press the Touch Gestures button to access the options. There are two modes with six gestures each. You can tap on any pattern to assign it to launch a specific app on a suspended screen.
Snapview/Guest Mode
There is no need for you to separate your personal from your work life, at least not on you Zenfone 2. Using the Snapview feature, you can create password-protected profiles to compartmentalize your personal and work data, photos, and apps. You can also let someone use your phone by activating the Guest Mode while keeping your private information secure.
Volume Control at the back
4GB RAM
The Zenfone 2 is the first smartphone to come out with 4GB of RAM, not a mean accomplishment in any sense of the word. Combined with a 64-bit Quad Core Intel Atom Processor, device performance is smooth and fast, even when multitasking or switching from one application or webpage to another. It is the ideal smartphone for mobile gaming.

Time rewind camera mode
And last, but certainly not least, the time rewind camera mode. This feature will let you take the perfect photo even if you are a bit off-sync. Once you press the shutter, it will actually take images 2 seconds before and one second after, taking 31 photos in all. You literally will not miss a thing!
