The location is off from the main crowded places except for Ocean Park and might be a concern for those who are unacquainted with the place but the hotel offers a super-efficient shuttle service that more than makes up for the snag plus it only takes 10 minutes to be in the Central. To note, the area is a great choice for travelers who are fascinated in sightseeing and gourmet food.

I stayed in this hotel for two nights during our Hong Kong Fam Tour courtesy of AirAsia during Manila – Hong Kong inaugural flight last May 8-10, 2015. Upon entering, I sensed the calming and lovely atmosphere of the place. The appeasing music playing softly throughout the lobby reminds me of a coffee shop vibes. The check-in was easy and the team that is sited in the lobby was attentive to greet us, they were cheerful and polite.

Rooms

I stayed at the Hill View Room at the 36th floor, it has a beautiful mountain view from my glass window and I can also see the moving cable cars of The Ocean Park.

Comfortable Bed Comfortable Bed

My room was spacious and vaunts a high ceiling. It has a somewhat contemporary interior design that is a little modish and is perfectly blended with the charming surrounding environment to produce a high-spirited yet relaxed feel. The decorative scheme is nice, noticeably a lot of care has gone into it, and the general effect is one of warmth and thoughtfulness for guests.

The room is also well-furnished with Wi-Fi internet access, cable and satellite flat screen TV channels, mini-bar, refrigerator, kettle and tea & coffee making facilities and in-room safe.

My bathroom was fairly big, there was a great selection of amenities including bath salt, hair dryer and luffa sponge which you do not frequently see in hotels that charge similar amount. The bathroom was kept really clean throughout my stay and all the fittings were new and glossy.

I was also happy to sink into my bed and appreciate that the mattress together with the pillows are perfect for a good night rest, they were soft. Wandering around the hotel and talking with the staff, I found out that the 37-storey L’hotel Island South offers 432 spacious guestrooms and suites all with picturesque seascapes, lavish hillside vistas or views overlooking the city that aim to redefine conservative notions of ease, service and stylishness. The hotel wants to cuddle the lifestyle that welcomes minimalism, convenience and coziness as part of an experience unlike anything elsewhere in town.

L’hotel Island South (discounted rates) also intend to lessen their environmental impact that is why the place went digital and paperless as possible. A touch screen interface with clear menus makes use of the digital concierge intuitive that affords answers to guests’ queries, and if you have any that the system cannot answer, the Concierge Team is always prepared to support.

The service was topnotch from the beginning to the end. The hotel staff was very well-mannered and the hotel’s 24-hour front desk offers fitting services like luggage storage and ticket services. The laundry and dry cleaning services were provided as well. A fitness center and outdoor swimming pool are also available for guests.

The Food

My Breakfast Plate My Breakfast Plate

During our first night at the hotel, they hosted our dinner and it was definitely the best dinner I had for that particular trip. The crispy and chewy meat of the suckling pig made me forget I was in Hong Kong.. It was heavenly. Apart from the unforgettable dinner, their breakfast was also extra ordinary. From Bread, Cheese, Fruits, Congee, Noodles and Dimsum selections, you will never ran out of fantastic options.

Overall Experience

It was my first stay in L’hotel Island South (check rates) and definitely will not be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the hotel and I highly recommend this to travelers who want to wake up, open the curtains and absorb the spectacular panoramic sight of verdant forest and mountains, and experience the hotel’s wholly allotted comfort facilities.
