Who says Travelers can’t be Fashionistas? Well, except me 🙂 Here are some of Manila’s finest fashion designers showcasing their Fall and Winter collections.

The Manila Fashion Festival is in its second year, and it has revolutionized the way we look at Filipino designers. Fashion has always been a leave it or love it thing for Filipinos, something that forward-thinking local fashion designers are endeavouring to change.

FINDING ABSOLEM by Designer JEROME SALAYA-ANG
FINDING ABSOLEM by Designer JEROME SALAYA-ANG – A collection that is about believing six impossible things before breakfast, Finding Absolem was inspired by the maze of life. Pieces redefine an individual through this captivating palette that highlights a person’s uniqueness and beauty. Jerome Salaya-Ang brings a sense of reformation to the runway.

The Manila Fashion Festival aim to help them do just that by showcasing the work of the ultra-creative souls among our midst.

AVIONA by Designer CHEETAH RIVERA
AVIONA by Designer CHEETAH RIVERA – A collection inspired by “the great migration” of long distance-wandering birds, Aviona fuels fascination. Each piece stimulates one’s sense of wonder and adventure. With a mesmerizing palette mixed with elements that will give you a warm sensation, Cheetah Rivera brings a new discovery to the runway.

The Manila Fashion Festival is a bi-annual event, and the pioneer show trod the catwalk in November 2014 to an enthusiastic audience. This time around, talent management company Art Personas is presenting the Fall/Winter 2015 collection for the edification of eager fashionistas.

L’AMOUR by Designer MARK BUMGARNER
L’AMOUR by Designer MARK BUMGARNER – A collection that explores romantic silhouettes, L’amour was inspired by the essence of love. Different shades of pastels and red, luxurious fabrics, precise cuts, and intricate shapes create movement and fluid effect. These pieces shimmer under the moonlight. Mark Bumgarner brings a charming nostalgia to the runway.

Art Personas is largely responsible for the direction of the event, which is right up its alley of competencies. Art Personas is known for deconstructing traditionally complex processes associated with fashion and art such as video production and event and talent management and to make them simpler, more efficient, and yield better results for its clients. Art Personas specializes in connecting talents and artists to customers.

HIGH HIGH by Designer BEA SAMSON
HIGH HIGH by Designer BEA SAMSON – Inspired by aviation and space exploration, this is a collection that is out of this world. With a mixture of ovoid and fitted shapes, greys and black blended with silver and blue, select fabrics like metallic mesh, wool, and faux fur, this collection is comfortable, warm, and stylish. Bea Samson brings a heavenly experience to the runway and beyond.

This latest production is testament to how the people behind Art Personas like to walk. They have taken the traditional fashion show to a new level, making it a world-class production.

THE NEW CLASSIC by Designer TONY EVAN
THE NEW CLASSIC by Designer TONY EVAN – A collection that introduces mystery and seduction, it was inspired by robotics and sportswear. Skin tight, femme fatale dresses with slits and cuts in all the right places emphasize a woman’s physique. Tony Evan brings an alluring and dramatic tone to the runway.

Talented designers aiming to grow their reputation in the industry are joining the fray, including Banggo Niu, who has recently inaugurated his own studio, as well as Preview’s Emerging Fashion Talents Bea Samson, Esme Palaganas, and Tony Evan. They are all bold, daring, and fashion forward; exactly what the fashion scene needs.

The 2nd Manila Fashion Festival will run for four days for the Fall/Winter ’15 season, beginning on March 19, 2015. The glamorous event is happening as we speak at elegant and chic event venue The Eye of the Green Sun Hotel. It is a fitting location for this glamorous event, as all eyes are on the offerings of these talented artists.

Included in the roster of talents are seasoned veteran designers who are there to show the newcomers how it is done. They are being featured for the first time at the Manila Fashion Festival and include the likes of Mark Tamayo, Jerome Salaya Ang, Rhett Eala, and Happy Andrada. The audience will be sure to see a groundbreaking collection of fashion they have never seen before.

  • March 19 – Jerome Salaya-Ang, Happy Andrada, YAY, John Herrera, Jot Losa, Renan Pacson
  • March 20 – Anthony Ramirez, Charina Sarte, Chris Diaz, Veejay Floresca, Odelon Simpao, Michael Leyva
  • March 21 – Rhett Eala, Cheetah Rivera, ARIN, Pablo Cabahug, Mark Bumgarner
  • March 22 (Afternoon show) – Banggo Niu, Esme Palaganas, Tony Evan, Bea Samson
  • March 22 (Evening show) – Mark Tamayo, Sassa Jimenez, Ziggy Savella, Vania Romoff, Jaz Cerezo
