After touring around Resorts World Sentosa and the Universal Studios Singapore, we went straight to Skykine Luge for a short adrenalin pumping ride. It really looks simple at first but I really had fun with this gravity fuelled ride. Imagine a go-cart and toboggan combined with the use of a non-motorized, safe and easy to drive three-wheel carrier which will bring you downhill towards Siloso Beach.
A must try activity in Sentosa (photos intentionally grabbed from Jan Shim’s Blog)
It was really fun and amazing because you can enjoy the ride at your own pace and you dont have to worry about machine overheat lol. So, what is the Skyline Luge? Think of it as a bobsled with wheels that is contained in a hard track which can be enjoyed by people of all ages. You are in control so if you want to go fast, its your choice but if you want it slow and easy, everything is up to you.
Getting Ready @ Skyline Luge (Thanks Jan Shim)
You won’t find anything else like this in all of Southeast Asia and what’s more, you will find that this is one of the most enjoyable things you can do with your time as you enjoy the perfect sunny day in Singapore.
Skyride in Sentosa Island (Thanks Jan Shim)
You can take the luge down 650 meters on the Jungle Trail or even more on the Dragon Trail if you want to be more adventurous. The way things are set up, you won’t have to worry about safety or anything else as you either shoot down the luge tracks as fast as you can or take your time and check out the gorgeous skyline and jungle scenery all around you.
Sentosa Island : View from Skyride
After Luge, we had the Skyride all the way back to the start off point. While on the Skyride, I truly enjoyed the breathtaking panoramic view of the city and the fantastic well preserved coastline.
Let your eyes pop out as you look at the many changes to Sentosa Island and the city that many call the best in the world, even if it is a small country. If you are looking for something new and exciting to do in Singapore, Sentosa Island is the best place for you. It seems like every month there is a new attraction, new wonder, or new amusement opening in SG. Sometimes you have to wonder what the rest of the world is doing as Singapore cranks out one amazing thing after another.
Want to really dig into the excitement? Try the Skyline Luge after the sun goes down. The lighting on the track makes the experience safe and yet the thrill you will get from it is something you will have to experience to understand.
