Lunch at Cafe Alicia in Banilad Cebu
Looking for a restaurant in the vicinity of Foodland situated by the pool at a new apartelle that serves Asian and International specialties? Read on as I share to you my dining experience at Cafe Alicia and also why you should consider staying at Alicia Apartelle as well.

Cafe Alicia is at the second level of Alicia Apartelle located right across Banilad Town Center and in between Gaisano Country Mall and The Henry Hotel below the flyover.

You might be surprised upon entering this apartelle since the standard operating procedure of security is to request for your identification in exchange for a visitor’s pass, which is uncommon among hotels. I think the reason behind this is that Alicia Apartelle is within the same compound as that of its dormitory counterpart.

Accessible to banks, convenience stores, shopping centers and recreation areas, this hotel is a perfect place to check-in when your business is either in Talamban, A.S. Fortuna or IT Park.

Upon entering, you’ll immediately notice the artistic details and antiquity among their furniture and fixtures. Having done a quick tour around the area, I was actually quite impressed seeing the modern and spacious rooms and suites that can accommodate a big group with a good price to value ratio.

If you’re looking for a place to hold your event in Cebu City, you can rent out their function rooms or their alfresco lounge at the second level. And since we’re already on the second level, let’s might as well check out Cafe Alicia and meet Chef Glenn, the man behind the new and revamped menu of the restaurant inspired from his accumulated years of experience working in other top hotels, restaurants and cruise ships.

Cafe Alicia offers the best of Cebu and some Asian and International favorites. We were able to try out their Garlic and Spinach Fondue (a unique blend of melted cheeses with spinach and garlic confit served with melba toast), Ramen Noodle Soup (rich and tasty blend of pork and Bohol prawn stock with fresh ramen noodles served with breaded chicken), Grilled Teriyaki (marinated chicken fillet served with teppanyaki vegetable) and Adobo Rice (stir fried rice of chicken and pork adobo served with Cebuano garlic fried pork).

Our lunch was quite a good mix of Italian, Japanese and Filipino cuisine which indeed made our tummies happy. With this varied offerings, a typical meal for two would cost around 600 pesos.

Other curious items on the menu which we’ll surely try on our next visit include the Nasi Goreng, Pad Thai and Hamburguesa dela Casa, a Meximama bestseller, another restaurant personally owned by Chef Glenn.

Aside from these sumptuous and interesting dishes, what I loved about Cafe Alicia was the sense of exclusivity in comparison to eating at other crowded restaurant chains, the experience of eating lunch by the pool and also while waiting for the food to be cooked, you could roam around the hotel and have a quick game of pingpong and billiards, though you probably need to be a guest to use these facilities.

So whenever you’re done boxing at ALA in BTC or tired bowling at Gaisano Bowling Complex behind Country Mall or probably finished an hour of Swedish massage at the numerous spas in the vicinity, come check out Cafe Alicia and might as well inquire more about Alicia Apartelle for any future event or staycation you have in mind.
