Last weekend, I was invited by Hamilo Coast to visit Pico de Loro for the annual Pico Tri Event. With almost 300 participants, this years theme is “Swim for our reefs. Bike for our mangroves. Run for our turtles.”

A Prayer for the team
The event started Saturday at around 2:30pm with a 1.2km swimming competition near the shores of Hamilo Coast. The swim was followed by a challenging 35KM bike ride along the natural coastal terrain and then a 8Km run under the beating summer sun to the finish line at Hamilo Coast Beach front. Each one showed their determination on the infamous race course to make a difference for Mother Nature.
After crossing the Finish Line
It was not an easy task for the experienced athletes who joined the event last Saturday due to the hot weather and the unforgettable uphill and downhill bike which made them consider the event as one of the most memorable and organized Triathlon event they have joined. Most triathletes were impressed with the visibility of aid stations and overflowing water and gatorade supply from sponsors.
