Last weekend was the final show of the 5th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition and it was everything it promised to be. USA’s Atlas Pyro Vision and our own Philippine Platinum Fireworks, Inc. put on a truly outstanding show. The entire competition was so much fun and I was fortunate enough to see more than one evening of the show. But of course when it comes to grand finales, nothing tops a grand finale is sparkling, dazzling, pyrotechnical, musical inspiration.

USA’s Atlas Pyro Vision Performance
The final day brought out the dramatic style of the United States. Their show was as expected, with big, bold, and show stopping moments. Bursts of well-combined colors along with moments of classy color contrasting. The style of the US is a style of drama and they certainly brought it this year.

The Philippines
As the home team, the Philippines always puts on a dramatic and heart-stopping show. They cater to the crowds with love and dedication, giving us plenty of reason to hoot and holler and cheer for the Philippines. A lot of people were so proud of the display that they wanted it to be the winning performance however, that was just a friendly display as Philippines Performance is a non-competing entry.

The Big Winner: Canada’s Royal Pyrotechnie
After all the amazing displays, it’s hard to imagine choosing just one that can truly stand out. Each had it’s special moments and there were many that were incredible enough to bring out the emotions in all of the spectators. But the judges know enough about pyromusical performances to be able to distinguish between good and great. The first place prize went to Canada, who certainly deserves the honor. They’ve one once before and managed once again to beat out the UK, who is the overall most successful at these events.
Thanks to everyone who participated. I can’t wait to do it all again next year! See you in Philippine International Pyromusical Competition 2015!
