My Overnight Stay Experience at Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay City
If you love to travel and you have a long list of destinations on your bucket list, then Tagaytay should be one of the few places you should visit first. Tagaytay is known for its wonderful scenery and admirable climate not to mention its high standard of living and best of all, the place is encircled by a number of restaurants, fruit stands and other shopping destinations.

Ive been to this City several times already and I have stayed in various types of accommodation from hostel to 4 star hotel and to tell you honestly, Staying at Taal Vista Hotel is was also listed on by bucket list until I got an invitation from their Marketing and Comunications to experience an overnight stay in their hotel.

After gathering in Starbucks 6750, their shuttle service brought us to the hotel and after an exchange of pleasantries with Mr. Walid Wafik – the General Manager of Taal Vista Hotel, we headed to The Café on the Ridge for our lunch.

The restaurant was spacious, comfortable and full of mouth-watering dishes including Filipino Dishes from different regions of the Philippines and some desserts or “kakanin” mostly from Southern Tagalog region. Apart from Filipino favorites, they are also offering Mediterranean, Italian, Chinese and other international cuisines.

You can also request for a freshly cooked noodles, omelets and Pinoy’s favorite fresh lumpia and have it cooked your way. As we have our lunch, in-house performers showcased some of the famous filipino folk dances such as Tinikling, Carinosa, Pandango sa Ilaw, and other regional dances from Ifugao and Mindanao. After the beautiful exotic dances, a group of home grown talents performed seranade songs like Bésame Mucho and other old favorites.
After leaveing our things in our respective rooms, Celine Arenillo – the marketing head of Taal Vista Hotel and Ro Manalo – SM Hotel’s Director for Marketing Communications, toured us round the resort to checkout their rooms, facilities and some of their hotel amenities including their Asmara Spa and some of their function rooms that are regularly booked for corporate events and weddings.

My room has two single beds, an LED TV, a huge bathroom and a wonderful view of the famous Taal Volcano from my window. I noticed that their bathroom has no door, something similar to other world class hotels Ive stayed in Singapore. I dont really care much about the bathroom design so long as its clean and the amenities are complete. I love their beds and the pillows, theres also a WiFi connection all over the hotel though the connection was a little bit wonky during daytime.

After an hour of relaxing massage, we gathered at the lobby for dinner. We were supposed to eat at the veranda but due to the heavy rain, we just had our dinner inside the Cafe on the Ridge. I noticed a wide variety of Filipino favorites in the buffet table but we still requested for them to serve their famous “Bulalo” since I read that its one of their best sellers.

If you are planning to stay in the hotel during weekends, you may visit their weekend market selling local and organic products from cooked food, fruits, different kinds of herbs and their best selling turmeric tea. The weekend market is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with Tagaytay’s fresh organic produce to be sold by the Ridge.
