Melia Kuala Lumpur Hotel Review: The Hidden Gem in Kuala Lumpur

Melia Kuala Lumpur Hotel Review

After having our dinner at Kuala Lumpur’s famous Atmosphere 360 Restaurant, we headed to  Melia Kuala Lumpur Hotel (hotel info) to checkin. Centrally located within the Golden Triangle, amongst all the prestigious business addresses, stands the Melia Kuala Lumpur Hotel.

The hotel has many good points but what strikes most is its excellent location. All the big shopping malls are in close proximity to this hotel. In fact, the renowned shopping mall, Berjaya Times Square, is just opposite to this hotel and the Imbi Monorail Station is just adjacent to this property. Since we will be spending two nights in KL, the organizers of Malaysia Asean East Coast Trail book us at this hotel for us to experience the best that the city can offer.

As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by the smiling staff at the front office. They were very helpful and welcoming and the check-in was done swift as we got the keys real quick.

I stayed at the 15th floor fronting the beautiful Berjaya Times Square. The rooms are not new but were all very well maintained. The room was very clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. Since it was the 15th floor, the view of Berjaya Times Square from the room was excellent, providing a bird’s eye view of the city. Room Service was just okay and the Wi-Fi (free of charge) worked pretty well in the room, albeit the occasional haphazard disruptions.

The buffet breakfast was complimentary and it was really a huge spread. They had a wide range of items on offer and all tasted very well. The fruit selection was fantastic and you can actually fill up your tummy with all that you want so that you can skip lunch to set yourself for a long day of exploration. That was what I did actually.

All in all, it was an amazing experience to stay in this hotel and all credits go to the staff as they went out of the way to make us feel comfortable at all times.

I strongly recommend this hotel for both business and leisure purposes. I highly recommend that you should always book with Agoda.com to get the lowest rates and special promotional offers. You should request for a top floor room (15th to 18th floor) as it offers a great view of the surroundings.
