We welcome Marian Orchard’s commitment to managing the property in an environmentally-sensitive manner.”

“The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program benefits both people and wildlife,” Latus said. “It’s a great way for businesses and environmental organizations to work together to become better stewards of the land and natural resources.”

The President of the pilgrimage site, Amanda J. Javellana also stated, “This Audubon certification is a testament to Marian Orchard’s commitment not only to promote faith-based tourism but to support efforts for an ecologically sustainable tourism. Our next step now is to involve the community in the campaign to take care of our environment through our partner and adopted schools in Balete, Malvar, Tanauan, and Lipa.”
