They say that there’s always a reason to be happy at Jollibee, especially when there’s a new addition to the family of everyone’s favorite bee. This time around, it’s teen icon and multi-talented actress Liza Soberano.

The company announced on Wednesday, September 11, that Liza has been tapped to be their newest brand ambassador, where she will be promoting the brand’s newest snack, the Crispy Spice Fries. Liza’s entry to Jollibee’s star-studded roster of endorsers will also officially be unveiled to the public on September 15 with a new commercial.

During a panel interview at today’s launch event, Liza revealed that she was approached with the endorsement deal before she left for the U.S.: “I wasn’t able to shoot with Jollibee immediately, but I’m very thankful that they waited for me.”

She also shared anecdotes of her fondest memories with the Filipino fastfood chain: “We didn’t have a lot of money when I was still training with Star Magic, so what my dad, my aunt and I will do is we will order the Jollibee 39ers. Paghahatian namin yung tatlong lumpiang shanghai and one Jollibee Burger Steak. So there’ll be three of us sharing two meals.”

“There was also this one time when we went to a Jollibee Drive Thru in Tarlac, and then the staff asked ‘dine in or take out po?’ and then I told him, ‘kuya, may dine in pala dito sa drive thru?’” Liza recalled with a laugh.

“We’re really happy to have Liza in our Jollibee family. We can’t think of anyone more adventurous and likeable to represent our new Jollibee Crispy Spice Fries. It’s a very exciting product and campaign, and we look forward to having such a coveted personality carry that excitement with her,” said Jollibee Senior Marketing Manager for Complementary Products Kay Segismundo, adding that Liza’s fun demeanor and sense of spontaneity and adventure makes her the perfect match for the Crispy Spice Fries.

“I believe that I’m really spontaneous, especially when I’m with my friends. One day I’ll wake up and want to be somewhere and do something new, and I do it!’” Liza said. “That’s why I relate to the Crispy Spice Fries. When you eat it, you feel a certain rush because of the spices and the flavor. When I’m with friends and people I love, I always want to do something that gives me a certain rush, that spice!”
