The date marks the celebration of the feast of San Isidro the patron saint of farmers. It is a truly memorable sight to behold. Town folks decorate their house with rice wafers called ‘kiping’. These come in various vibrant colors and are creatively arranged in to different shapes such as flowers, leaves, butterflies, fruits & vegetables among other things before they are draped the around the houses. And they literally cover almost all houses in the town making it look like a colourful out of this world wonderland. Not only are they nice to look at they are also nice to eat. Visitors are encouraged to take some from the houses and eat. And during Pahiyas, every visitor in town is welcome to watch, participate and eat.

There is also a huge statue of Jesus Christ up on top of a 292 steps climb.
