List of Alternative Places To Go this Summer
In a report by CNN Philippines on March 22, Thursday, the government inter-agency council, composed of the Environment, Tourism and Interior departments, has recommended to cancel the annual ‘Laboracay’ parties in Boracay.

The closure of the island for the said rehabilitation will start from April 26 and 6 months thereafter.
Although this might sound upsetting for the Laboracay patrons, let’s just keep in mind that this is for the betterment of Boracay and the environment as a whole.
However, if you’d look at the bright side, we’ve got plenty of tourist destinations and events this Summer – we should be including in our bucket list – aside from Boracay. We have listed alternative places to go this Summer here in our article so read on.
Summer Social in Makati
If you got no time partying outside Manila, then we recommend you attend the Summer Social event on April 13 at Salcedo Village in Makati. This alternative place and event is organized by Winery Philippines.
Now on its second year, the party promises a night full of sangrias and street foods to cap off the busy week. There will also be premium wines, acoustic performances, and even surprise activities for every attendee. Early bird rate is priced at ?1,000 and is valid until April 2. Partying and drinking beer has never been unique. Well here’s one of the alternative places and event – the Careers and Beers happening on April 13 in Ortigas. Not only you’ll get to be entertained, but job opportunities are also around the corner if you attend this event.
Flowing beer will start at 2 PM. Exact venue will be at the 19th floor of Octagon Center, San Miguel Avenue in Ortigas, Pasig.
Another unique event this May includes Writing, Wine, and Cheese. With this wine event slash workshop, all wordsmiths will be able to learn the dos and dont’s of copywriting. Both events are organized by Tanda. Visit their Facebook page at TandaHQ.
Surfs Up at La Union
Time to head up north and enjoy the waves of La Union. With its feature of being the most accessible surfing spot near Manila, it is also home to exciting food hubs as well. You should also visit the newly-opened The Food Project for a wide variety of cuisine you will definitely love.
Last year, La Union used to have Labor Union Festival, where talented local artists and performers unite for a 3-day festival. Like Malasimbo Festival, the Labor Union had Silent Disco and art displays as well.
But since there are no announcement about this year’s festival, we recommend you just chill and do some food tripping around the province. If you still haven’t got a place to stay, check out P&M Final Option Beach Resort in La Union.
Get Spontaneous in Palawan
Since Laboracay is all about getting the most of your labor day weekend with either beer, amazing music, and great company, within the white sand beaches of Boracay, then we suggest you head over at one of the best alternative places to go this summer – in Palawan.
During our recent Aloha Palawan trip, we were able to discover an island located 30 minutes away from Puerto Princesa – the Inaladelan Island in Port Barton. Its unspoiled beauty makes it the perfect venue where you can spend your Labor Day with your fam and friends. You can even go camping, bring your own speakers and drink beer with your friends.
