How To Get To El Nido from Puerto Princesa Palawan

How To Get To El Nido Palawan

Planning a summertime escape to El Nido Palawan? Well, you have several options when determining how to get there. I personally recommend travel by air but commercial flights to El Nido are no longer offered by airlines except for those who are staying in luxury resorts of El Nido Resorts.

Pilandok Van to El Nido

If you will be coming from Manila, you will still need to fly into Puerto Princesa City in Palawan. From Puerto Princesa Airport you can take a bus at San Jose Terminal, but be warned it is an 8 hour ride over no so bumpy roads. If you don’t mind though, it’s a definite cost saver.

There are air conditioned shuttle vans that make this trip as well but will cost more than the regular bus. The trip is about 2 hours shorter but you will be way more comfortable in the van than in the bus.

Some Vans are leaving San Jose terminal at 7pm and you will arrive in El Nido at around 2:30am, that includes a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes stop over time. I personally chose the services of Pilandok Transport which has a terminal near Robinsons Place Palawan Mall. One way ticket will cost you P500 pesos and you can call Pilandok Transport Services for reservation at 0917-5905057.

By Bus

Air-conditioned RORO buses departs San Jose Bus terminal, Puerto Princesa and El Nido Market every 2 hours during the day and at 10pm and 4am during the night. Fare P483 (rates may change). These are relatively new buses and absorb bumpy roads better than the smaller vans, and with more leg room. These buses do, however, make many stops along the way to pick up passengers, so the empty seat next to you will be filled eventually, and the stops can get quite annoying.

There are various Van and Roro Bus available in San Jose Terminal. To reach San Jose Terminal, just ride a tricycle from Puerto Prinsesa, it will take you 10-15 minutes to reach the terminal.

Since the trip from Puerto Princesa to El Nido may take up to 7 hours, better take the night schedule for faster trips and to avoid the humidity during day time.
