If you are planning on traveling, then a passport is a necessity. Filipinos who are wishing to travel outside the Philippines, will need a Philippine passport.

At the time of writing this article, it has never been easier to obtain a Philippine passport. The first thing you will need to do is download an application form from the Philippine Embassy website or get one from DFA office.

Renew your Philippine Passport faster:)

Looking for a Place to Stay? Visit Agoda for a wide range of accommodation options with great hotel deals and best price guarantee.

You will be required to bring your birth certificate (in order to show proof of your identity), and will also need three passport photos of yourself (no longer than six months old).

When having your photos taken, ensure that they abide by the following rules:-)

  • You must wear a light-coloured shirt with collar and sleeves.
  • Earrings are not allowed to be worn on men.
  • A ‘royal blue’ background is not permitted in the picture.

The cost of purchasing / renewing a Philippine passport is usually around P600, must be paid in cash and can often take up to 14 business days for your application to be processed. If you want it expidited (7 business days) it would cost your P750.

Unfortunately a significant amount of people try to forge Philippine passports which, aside from being illegal and very dangerous, is also one of the main reasons for the lengthy application process. It is very important that you take the necessary steps to legally obtain your passport; otherwise you will be breaking the law and could face a possible prison sentence.

The expiration date on your passport will tell you when you need to renew the documentation. Currently, there are two methods to renew you passport: LBC provides a service called Telephone Passport Express, and they will ask you to call their hotline number, whereupon they will give you all the details you need to have your passport renewed.

Once you speak with them, they will inform you where the closest LBC is located and will provide you with the steps and documentation required to complete your passport renewal.

The second option you have is by going through the Department of Foreign Affairs website, where they host an application form that you can fill out and submit electronically. The site also has plenty of documentation available, detailing the steps you need to take for the renewal of your passport.

For many people, pets are just as much a part of the family and most people do not want to leave their animals behind. Luckily it is now easier than ever to get a pet passport. All you need to do is print out an application for a permit to transport your pet, which is available at the Pet Travel Store website. Also, you must send a Health Certificate for Certification of Authenticity to the Philippine Consular office three weeks prior to your trip. The Pet Travel Store will guide you step by step through the process of traveling with your pet and will provide free answers to your dog/pet/cat/breed questions.

With the right preparation, you and your pet will be able to enjoy your travels together, with the minimum of stress.

  1. As far as I’m concern, the process looks better but the truth is it is really worst, it will going to take so much time before you going to get the schedule. last April 12 my family friend wanted to renew her passport, then the next earliest schedule she can get is June 15, thats 2 months then using rush processing they make it 10 days, and normal is 20, note that this is working days.

All i can say is what is this passport in the philippines, and mind you its only valid for 5 fu….ing years….

  2. how come regular fee is 600.00 for 14 days while in the DFA is 950.00 for 20 and 750.00 for 7 days while DFA sets for 1500.00 in only 10 days..?
