Best Western Bendix Hotel in San Fernando, Pampanga
San Fernando City, Pampanga, Philippines — I was recently invited to a weekend overnight stay with fellow foodies and food bloggers. Our home during our short but memorable stay was Best Western Bendix Hotel in San Fernando, Pampanga (more info).

Located at a fair distance from urban Manila, we had a great time enjoying the road trip, partaking of the local dishes, and distressing ourselves from this neighboring home-away-from-home province of Pampanga.
About Best Western Bendix Hotel

Besides being a proximal weekend destination from Metro Manila, Best Western Bendix Hotel’s most distinguishing feature is its being the first Green Property in Central Luzon. Behind the stylish displays and posh suites of the hotel is its eco-friendly technologies like rainwater harvesters, solar-powered facilities, and the strict use of biodegradable materials within the premises. It’s a breath of fresh air in an increasingly busy and urbanized city.

Location
This newly opened hotel sits on a strategic location in San Fernando City, Pampanga. It is at the intersection of travelers coming from northern Luzon, Subic and Clark International airport from the west, Cabanatuan from the east, and Bulacan down south.
Arrival Experience

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hotel’s cool, neutral design, with a single golden chandelier as the centerpiece. The staff people at the reception had been expecting us, so checking in was hassle free. I got the keys to my room within minutes of stepping inside—and the check-in process was so fast, I did not get enough time to absorb the elegance of the lobby’s design!
Room
I was really blessed to have one of the 46 suites of Best Western Bendix Hotel with a fellow blogger. Our room was spacious—perhaps at 25 square meters.

My bed was exceptionally huge. And since it was a spring bed, it was sturdy but soft enough to my liking. My ergonomic pillow made me enjoy watching in my LCD TV.

A few steps after my bed is the huge window, which gave me a good view of the nearby establishments below. Unfortunately, my room did not have a balcony, which is one of my most favorite part of any hotel room I book. Since it’s an office building turned into a hotel, none of the rooms has a balcony.

My bathroom was just as spacious, complete with toiletries stored in eco-friendly dispensers. I especially liked their rain shower, which would have been paired better with a bathtub.
Food
Breakfast is served daily from 6 AM to 10 AM. The selection of meals was not that extensive, but it was pretty good for a 3-star hotel.

Their in-house restaurant, RubenBar, and Restaurant was particularly interesting. It is a café, restaurant, and bar that is known not just for its local and international dishes on demand, but also their exceptional cocktails. Their resident baristas, Bang and Justin, wowed us with their long list of beers and drinks that I did not know existed.

Departure
Our check-out process was just as seamless as our check-in. The staff was very helpful until our last day and assured our convenience. This is hotel hospitality at its finest.
Overall Review
Despite being newly opened and labeling itself a 3-star accommodation, Best Western Bendix exceeded all my expectations. Every member of the staff was courteous to us, and I truly appreciate the management’s efforts to be a Green Property. With its humble beginning and current success, I am confident enough to say that this hotel is going to get far.
