Where to stay in Bali, Indonesia: Bali Dynasty Resort
During my last trip, I stayed in Bali, Indonesia for 8 days. During my last 2 days in this beautiful country, I stayed in a 4-star resort called Bali Dynasty Resort (hotel info). I booked it via Agoda.com, and I have to say this was one of the highlights of my stay in the island. The amenities, facilities, and staff were all very welcoming, and I was glad that I saved the best for last: I saved the best resort for my last days in Bali.

Arrival at the hotel
Bali Dynasty Resort (check rates) offers transportation services. In fact, the resort was kind enough to pick me up at Adi Dharma Hotel, the hotel I stayed in 3 nights prior to my transfer to Bali Dynasty Resort. The hospitality of the crew did not end there. When I arrived, the hotel crew immediately helped me bring my bags to my Garden View deluxe room. I didn’t experience a bit of inconvenience, because they were all so helpful, and my room was already fixed even before I arrived!
Location
One of the best things about this resort is that it rests on 2.5 hectares (354 acres) of lush, green trees and gardens. It’s also located near the beachfront (the resort has a backdoor offering easy access to here), and is just a stroll away from the Kuta area, and the alley of shopping stalls where a variety of items, including authentic Indonesian souvenirs, can be bought.

Bali Dynasty Resort is also very accessible to the airport, with only a travel time amounting to 10 minutes.
My Room
My Garden View deluxe room was spacious and spotless. What I loved about my room was the sliding door that led to the veranda with a perfect view of the gardens. Being near the beach has also made the air in that part of the room clean and fresh, so, I didn’t need the air conditioning unit, which was surprisingly easy to control, switched on all day. I had all of these to myself.
My Garden View deluxe room
My bathroom was also very luxurious (it had a hot-and-cold rain shower, and was complete with the most exquisite of toiletries), but the best part about my room was that it was located near the lobby, and was accessible to the resort’s WiFi, that only comes for free in the common areas, such as the pool area and the restaurant.
The Food
Mini Burgers
My accommodation in Bali Dynasty Resort (hotel amenities) included a breakfast, and it was the best breakfast I’ve ever had since the first day of my arrival in Bali! In the resort’s in-house restaurant, you may choose from its huge selection of bread, pastries, noodles, eggs, sausages, and some traditional Indonesian dishes. The restaurant attendants were also very quick and attentive, and I appreciated how I did not have to wait at all for my cup of coffee to be served.
Gracie Kelly’s Irish Pub
Gracie Kelly’s Irish Pub
The resort also has Gracie Kelly’s Irish Pub, which is a sort of theatre and restaurant at the same time. The crew shows sports on the big screen, and the whole room is air conditioned. This pub starts serving at 11 Am daily, and serves lunch and dinner. You may choose to cheer on your favorite team with a nice, cold bottle of beer, or you may also choose from the bar snack menu or the a la carte menu, which offers its guests home-cooked food.
Kid’s Club
During my stay in the 4-star resort, I have to admit that I was really amazed at how flexible it is. I, as a travel blogger, was enjoying my stay, but so were the children. There were different types of people there, but everyone else despite this enjoyed their stay.
Kids Club
The resort offered a lot of recreational activities for all types of guests, so that wouldn’t be too surprising anymore. The Kupu-Kupu Kiddies’ Club, was what specifically caught my attention. It’s not your ordinary play area. It was divided into two sections, namely the “Enchanted Garden” and the “The Den”. The former was for the 4-8 year olds, while the latter had a different set of activities designed for the 8-12 year olds, but older children up to 16 years of age may also use this facility. Both sections are air conditioned.
The whole facility is managed by a professionally trained team, so I bet the parents had nothing to worry about.
Ashoka Spa
Ashoka Spa Lobby
And, of course, while the children were busy playing down at the Kid’s Club, the adults were also having the time of their lives in the resort’s Ashoka Spa. This is the only spa that offers the Ashoka Signature Massage, and have a lot of treatments to offer. There’s also a sauna here, so I’m sure they couldn’t ask for more.
Recreational Facilities
Bali Dynasty Resort Kiddie Pool
The resort offers a lot of other facilities that I was not able to explore anymore, and these included: 3 swimming pools, a water fun zone, a beach club, a poolside foot reflexology, an exercise room, a table tennis room, a Trapeze school and circus workshop, a tour and excursion package, and a professional photographer.
Adult Pool
The Staff
Front Desk
Everyone in Bali Dynasty Resort were well-trained and worked fast-paced. The bellmen helped you with your luggage, and the front desk staff were kind enough to explain the resort’s basic amenities. Room service was also very reliable, just like how quickly they responded when I asked for a bottled water and for some food!
Awards
With all those, I wasn’t too surprised anymore when I learned that Bali Dynasty Resort was able to win the following awards: Family Resorts-Readers’ Choice Awards: Best Family Resort 2014, the #1 in Bali from Holidays with Kids Magazine, the Tri Hita Karana in 2014, the Best Family Hotels in Indonesia, awarded by TripAdvisor’s 2014 Traveler’s Choice Awards, and its restaurant as the Best Restaurant, awarded by Indonesia Tatler 2014.
To sum it all up, Bali Dynasty Resort is one of those resorts that is able to cater to the needs of every type of guest—be it businessmen, couples, families, or even solo travelers, like me. The facilities in the resort, and the outstanding hotel staff say it all. So if you’ll ask me if I would return to Bali Dynasty Resort next time, my answer would be a big YES.
