Bai Hotel Cebu Review
I was invited to an AirAsia Red Talks event and was given the official accommodation of Bai Hotel Cebu. It was my official home in Cebu for two nights.
I have been to Cebu a couple of times already but this is my first time staying in the newly opened Bai Hotel Cebu (check rates and availability). And based on my short but meaningful experience here, I can say that this five-star hotel has left a strong and memorable impression to the digital nomad that is me.
For starters, Bai Hotel was very large. In fact, ever since its grand opening on March this year, it’s currently the largest hotel in the Visayas and Mindanao region, with 688 rooms and ten accommodation options. Imagine being a humble tenant in such a massive building that exudes hospitality and luxury to the highest levels.

Bai Hotel Cebu is constructed on a property strategically located near Cebu popular landmarks. Mactan-Cebu International Airport is 25 minutes from the hotel. Approximately located in the same distance is Cebu IT Park and Cebu Business Park.
Tourist landmarks like Magellan’s Cross, Fort San Pedro, and Basilica Minore del Santo Nino de Cebu are all a few minutes from here as well. In terms of accessibility, Bai Hotel is a winner. Cabs pass by here 24/7, and being in central Cebu means a vehicle is almost always a guarantee.
It was already nighttime when we arrived at the hotel. There were so many people in the lobby that I thought they would not be able to assist us with the check-in. Impressively, they were able to manage with just the minor inconvenience of delayed luggage delivery.
We later learned that the hotel was so busy because there were a lot of corporate events being held. This means that the hotel has already attracted so many people in just a short time since its opening.
The rooms of Bai Hotel were so spacious, which was expected from a hotel that large. I stayed in a Deluxe Twin room – a room category that is usually good for two guests. But, truth to be told, a room that huge could accommodate one or two more guests without the problem of crowding! My room was just that huge.
My room had a chiller, electronic safe, and a flat iron and iron board. Toiletries were complete, and I appreciated the complimentary water, coffee, and tea on the bar. I had an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) and an emergency kit too.
My room came with free buffet breakfast, which I enjoyed immensely.
This large hotel comes with an equally wide range of dining options. There are eight restaurants and cafés in the hotel. Most are located on the ground floor, but some, especially the pool bars and clubs, are located in the higher levels.
Wallstreet Coffee and Bar. This trendy café located on the ground floor is open 24 hours, and offers coffee, blended drinks, as well as juices and fruit smoothies upon your request. Try some of their freshly baked goods as well.
Lobby Lounge. Located on the ground floor as well. They serve fresh drinks, beer, and light snacks, too. This bar is open from 7 AM to 12 MN, so it’s the perfect place for a quick fix of food, especially for foodies.
UME Japanese Cuisine. The restaurant says it all: sashimi, yakitori, and yes, sushi. This resto is open during lunchtime (11:30 AM to 2:30 PM) and dinner (6:00 PM to 10:00 PM).
Marble + Grain Steakhouse. By steak, they meant lamb, pork, and even seafood and chicken dishes. Fine dining? Yes, please.
Café Bai. Open from Mondays to Sundays from 6 AM to 10 AM, the hotel’s very own restaurant offers buffet and all-day dining. Choose from Eastern to Western cuisines.
Pool Bar. Located on the 21st floor, the Pool Bar does not just offer awesome snacks, fresh drinks, and cocktails, it also offers a great view of the Cebu skyline.
Executive Club Lounge. On the 22nd floor lies the Executive Club Lounge. This is open to Executive Club Floor guests only. Their menu includes complimentary breakfast buffet, refreshments, afternoon tea, and yes, beer and drinks.
Twilight Roofdeck Lounge and Bar. If you are craving for some music and dance, go to this lounge and bar on the 23rd floor. This opens from Friday to Saturday from 6 PM to 2 AM.
Bai Hotel Cebu (check rates and availability) is a home away from home, which means that it does not fall short when it comes to the completeness of its amenities.
The highlight of the hotel is the swimming pool on the top floor, as well as the Pool Bar and Twilight Roofdeck Lounge + Bar in the lower floors. Guests can enjoy this facility any time of the day, and they should.
Meanwhile, the hotel has a spa and a fitness gym. The Spa Garden is located in the 6th floor. There is also a souvenir shop somewhere.
Conference rooms are available as well, which seemed to be fully booked when we had our stay here. The hotel has 16 conference rooms. The smallest room can accommodate 15 people, while the largest, the Lapu Lapu Grand Ballroom of 655 square meters, can have up to 700 guests at once!
My departure and checkout process was as easy as how I checked in. It was nice to see how the hotel staff was consistent all throughout. The place was very busy but I appreciated how they are able to keep up with the influx.
Staying in Bai Hotel is one great experience. You shrink with the size of the hotel, and it takes some time to get used to moving around. It has a nice, classy feel that anyone could get used to.
There were many people checked in during our stay, but noise did not become a source of inconvenience. The staff was managing very well despite the busyness of things, and it was commendable especially for a hotel that just opened.
In overall, it is highly recommended to stay in Bai Hotel. The room rates are not too affordable, nor too expensive, but the price is worth every penny.
