December is the month of giving and receiving. But for Discovery Suites Ortigas, it’s more of the former rather than the latter. In a lighting ceremony held at the hotel’s 20-foot high circus-themed Christmas tree decorated with wooden horses and masks, Discovery Leisure Corporation, Inc. Chief Operating Officer (CEO) Mr. Jun Parreño led its night’s highlight, that is, to turnover donation to its charity of the year, the Chosen Children Village foundation.

The Chosen Children Village is an organization that provides care to mentally and physically challenged children. Since 2013, Discovery Suites Ortigas has been extending assistance to the said charity.
The presence of mimes, jugglers, and men on high stilts added to the ambience of the event. Don Bosco Makati’s chorale group Boscorale sang their hearts out to complete the Holiday feel.
Leeds Trompeta, General Manager of Discovery Suites, revealed, “For the 2015 holidays, we channeled the colorful vibe of a Circus. Tonight, we unveil Discovery Suites’ Cirque de Noël.”
Gingerbread Carousel
Everyone witnessed the unveiling of the hotel’s main holiday attraction, its first gingerbread carousel.
“Every year, our hotel guests take their selfies in front of the iconic Discovery Suites gingerbread House. This year, we decided to change things up a bit and create a carousel made from Ginger Bread. It’s been a great hit with the kids and the kids-at-heart,” Trompeta added.

“It is with great joy that we are able to share holiday cheer with the Chosen Children Foundation Village. It is our goal to make these kids feel that they are valued especially during this holiday season,” he furthered.
The ceremony also jumpstarted the great holiday offers of its in-house restaurants such as 22 Prime’s four-course meal showcasing its USDA Angus prime rib eye and double smoked bacon turkey roulade. To be offered from 12:30 PM to 10:30 PM starting on December 1 until January 1, 2016, you can avail of this meal at a price of 2,000 Php nett. Those who’ll stay in the hotel during Christmas eve can also avail of 22 Prime’s prime rib eye and holiday turkey for 2,300 Php nett.
