Few months back, I visited Bacolod City for a short vacation. We haven’t had lunch yet when we left Iloilo City so we decided to have lunch first upon arrival at the Bacolod Port. Before heading to Avenue Suites, Audrey and Belle suggested that we try the best tasting Inasal at Manokan Country.
Authentic Bacolod Inasal
Just like Tagalog’s Inihaw, Chicken Inasal means a special charcoal grilled chicken in Bacolod. The word “asal” came from the Spanish word “asar” which means “roasted”. Inasal is best served with perfect dipping sauce which is a mixture of sinamak vinegar, soy sauce, kalamansi and sili.
Located near SM City Bacolod, Manokan Country is the best place to taste the real Chicken Inasal. Aside from the usual grilled chicken legs, other famous grilled items are pecho (breast), pakpak (wings), baticolon (gizzard) and atay (liver). If you have an adventurous palate, you can try ordering tinae (intestines) or isol (chicken’s rear end) and eat like a local.
Freshly Grilled Bacolod Inasal
For best tasting Chicken Inasal, try dining at Nena’s Rose Chicken Inasal, Manokan Country in Bacolod City.
How to Get There:
Once you are in Bacolod City, Ask the jeepney driver if they’ll pass by Manokan Country, if not get a taxi and the driver will surely bring you the famous Inasal joint.
