Asus Unwraps ZenFone 3 Zoom: Big Battery, Dual-Optics Snapper, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Processor, and Everything That We Know So Far

Taiwanese tech firm Asus is once again on the roll. The company unwrapped during the CES 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada USA two of its hottest new Android smartphones that are poised to hit the market soon. One of the phones unveiled during the event is named the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom.

If the name seems familiar to you, yes, you’re right. The new phone is the follow-up to the Asus ZenFone Zoom which was released in 2016. In fact, it even made waves and was since known as among the most stunning cameraphones.

Features to Expect

With regard to its camera, the handset comes fitted with two 12-megapixel optics. One of these snappers has wide-angle 1/2.5-inch lens that has f/1.7 aperture along with a IMX32 sensor from Sony. That’s not all Asus is putting on the table. These cameras are also packed with Optical Image Stabilization, 1.4nm pixels, 4K video capture support, EIS, as well as Tri-Tech autofocus.

What’s great is that it sports Dual-Optics module that lets users to capture photos with nifty Bokeh effect or depth-of-field. This is a new feature that is incorporated in this phone.

It is interesting to note, however, that its Dual Optics shooter has only the capacity to produce 2.3 lossless optical zoom (as opposed to 3X on the phone’s predecessor).

In terms of its looks, it seems that it appears very much like the 5.5-inch Asus ZenFone 3 Max.

This phone that features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display has a weight of 170 grams and measures 7.83 millimeters at its thickest point. Note that its screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 touchscreen panel. This one is also powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 process and runs on Zen-UI-skinned Android Marshmallow OS. How about its battery? Users can expect a 5,000 mAh battery pack, making the phone an ideal companion on your trips.

ZenFone 3 Zoom Price and Release Date

So how much this hot new thing is priced and when will this phone be released? As of this writing, we have yet to know these important details. Many expect, though, that it will be released within the first quarter of 2017 in the Philippines.
