Filipino Designers to Compete in AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search 2016 in Kuala Lumpur
Three talented young Filipino designers have been selected to represent the Philippines at the Grand Finale of AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search 2016 to be held in Kuala Lumpur this coming August.

“This designer search is a good platform for our young, up-and-coming Filipino designers to showcase their capabilities on an international scale,” says Atty. Joy Caneba, Chief Executive Officer of Philippines AirAsia.
Mary Camille Veloso, 24, and Bea Samson, 28, of Slims Fashion and Arts School, as well as Ron Xavier Santos, 24, of Fashion Institute of Design and Arts Davao, were chosen out of a total of 185 participants who entered the competition for the Philippine leg of the Asean-wide designer search auditions held in Manila.
They were awarded by the panel of judges from the airline and the fashion industry, including Andrew Tan, Founder of Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready to Wear, Vivy Yusof, Founder of FashionValet, and Captain Rolando, Chief Pilot for Training, Philippines AirAsia.

The winners will not only get the chance to walk away as “AirAsia’s Most Promisng Young Designer 2016”. They will also be getting prizes worth at least Php 4 million including a confirmed show segment to showcase his or her full collection at KLFW RTW 2017, mentorship from the KLFW RTW team, at least Php 250,000 sponsored by FashionValet to produce a capsule collection and sold on fashionvalet.com, plua 150,000 AirAsia BIG Points sponsored by AirAsia X flights, among a few.
To cap off the festivities held during the awarding in Best Western PLUS Antel Hotel, four lucky guest winners each won a roundtrip ticket to support the Filipino talents in Malaysia! Good luck, winners!
