AirAsia launches Airbus Smarter Fleet Electronic Flight Folder
Soon after signing an agreement at the Paris Air Show, AirAsia has become the first airline to fly the latest Airbus “Smarter Fleet” electronic Flight Folder (eFF). Witness to the signing is the group CEO of AirAsia, Tony Fernandes.

In place of the day-of-flight paper documentation, the electronic Flight Folder enables pilots an access to their briefing package at real-time whether on-board the aircraft, sitting anywhere from home, inside a room in the hotel, or in the briefing room with the crew. Moreover, the software also features an improved capabilities to manage other electronic documentations such as the air safety reports and post flight journey log. Linked with the airline’s ground system, the software help deliver the briefing packages and archive data automatically.

As a more advanced electronic Flight Folder application, it can be integrated with a set of Smarter Fleet solutions that optimizes from beginning to end operations. Maintenance of personnel and mobility module are now provided with up-to-date information which includes critical aircraft technical data, documentations, and work packages, thereby utilizing the gains of mobile technology.
As one of Airbus’ largest client worldwide, the AirAsia Group has now transacted an orders totalling to 571 aircrafts. Within these orders, it include 475 pan-Asian short haul fleet, A320 Family aircraft, in addition to the 96 wide-bodied, 86 A330s and 10 A350 XWBs, for use with long-haul affiliate AirAsia X.
