Element by Westin Bali Ubud Review
(Bali, Indonesia) – A few months ago, I had a memorable trip to the picturesque, nature-endowed island of Bali, Indonesia. During that familiarization trip sponsored by AirAsia, I, along with several other writers were given the opportunity to stay in the yet-to-open Element by Westin Bali Ubud (resort info) for a few days.

Besides the fact that staying in a hotel that was yet to open thrilled me, the hotel itself was simply lovely; and the idea of having the entire property to ourselves was magical.

About Element by Westin Bali Ubud
Element by Westin Bali Ubud is a hotel of the Marriot International hotels brand, which spells five star luxury. Element stands side by side with the big names like The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, JW Mariott, and Bvlgari Hotels and Resorts.

Element by Westin Bali Ubud opened in March 2018 with 152 rooms, each equipped with Signature Heavenly® beds, bathrooms that can serve as guests’ own private, personal spa, and balconies that have a view of the beautiful nature of Bali. This close-to-nature feel is further enhanced with the management’s conscious efforts of keeping the resort eco-friendly and smoke-free.
Location
This beautiful hotel is located right along Jalan Raya Andong road, so it is 24/7 accessible, and it is less than ten minutes away from central Ubud, a bustling town of historical buildings and arts and crafts.

The fact that Element is in the picturesque island of Bali makes the location itself perfect.
Arrival experience
Because we had most of the hotel to ourselves that day, we were pampered like members of the royal family. It felt amazing.

The entrance was breathtaking and so Instagrammable. The grand staircases from the poolside that led to one of the main buildings was regal. The high ceilings revealed a mezzanine with a large, geometric, bamboo centerpiece that, during the nighttime, was even flashier.

Upon arrival, we were hurriedly assisted by the staff, and we got the keys to our respective rooms in a jiffy. We were also served their refreshing welcome drinks. Afterwards, a concierge staff assisted me with my luggage and brought me to my assigned room. The experience gets only better from here.
Rooms
The first thing I noticed when I entered my room is the scent of “newness”. It is quite hard to explain, but it is the kind of smell that makes any traveler like me jump up and down in joy. It reminded me of that one time I stayed in one of my favorite luxury hotel in Madrid.

In Element by Westin Bali Ubud Resort (customer reviews), I stayed in a Deluxe Room in one of the top floors. I have a huge king-sized bed, and my balcony has a breathtaking view of the pool below, beside all the coconut trees and greeneries.

My 34-square-meter room also has 43” HDTV, high speed Wi-Fi connection, and—wait for it—my very own, spa-inspired bathroom, complete with amenities and a rain shower.
Food
The resort’s one and only restaurant is called Andong Teras All Day Dining, which operates on a “farm to table” concept. Their chefs cook a holistic and healthy menu that promotes wellness.

Their breakfast menu especially enamored my foodie soul. They offered granola, fresh fruits, Indonesian coffee, and freshly-made smoothies, to name some.

Guests can also dine at the nearby restaurants, which are just a few minutes away thanks to the resort’s location. Neighboring foodie paradises include Melting Wok Warung, Putu’s Wild Ginger, and Petani Restaurant.
Facilities
The outdoor saline water pool is without a doubt the highlight of this hotel. Placed amidst the lush vegetation that is akin to a sanctuary, this manmade pool feels as if it had been a part of nature since time.

Another notable facility is the PancaMaya Wellness center and Motion: Fitness Center. Related to health and wellness are yoga classes, aerobic classes, and spa services that are also available.

Element by Westin Bali Ubud Resort (check rates and availability) also wins in convenience, besides luxury and class. They have a responsive concierge desk and services, Relax: Evening Reception, laundry service, and wheelchair access. Security runs 24 hours and they also have a detailed emergency evacuation plan, as well as sprinklers and smoke detectors.
Departure
Departure was just as smooth as our check-in. The staff were all impressively helpful from the first day to the last.

Final verdict
Getting to stay in a massive, heavenly luxury hotel is living the dream. It is hard to give an accurate rating of the hotel since we were given early access, but since the hotel is bound to stay as cozy as it is for the years to come, then I would give it five stars on any day.
