Reyna ng Aliwan 2016 Fashion Presentation of Candidates
We Filipinos are fond of celebrating festivals or fiestas and we all know that a fiesta is never complete without a beauty pageant. In fact, even if it’s a small barrio fiesta, you will notice that there will always be a beauty pageant.

As with the celebration of the grandest festival of all champions – Aliwan Fiesta 2016, there is Reyna ng Aliwan 2016.
But before the Reyna ng Aliwan Pageant 2016, a fashion presentation of the Reyna ng Aliwan candidates was held last April 13, 2016, at the Robinson’s Atrium, Ermita, Manila. Alongside with that was a photo exhibit showcasing the winners of 2015 photo contest on the pageantry of the Philippines’ festival of champions. The fashion presentation was organized by the Manila Broadcasting Company in cooperation with Robinson’s Manila.
Stand-out Reyna ng Aliwan Candidates
Among the 16 candidates, some of them showed a great potential to win the crown of the Reyna ng Aliwan Pageant 2016. Even thou it’s just a fashion presentation and not the pageant itself, still their performance will somehow reflect how prepared they were for the pageant.
1. Candidate No. 13 – Cynthia Thomalla


Ms. Cynthia Thomalla represents the Sinulog Festival of Cebu City. Cynthia’s inspiration was to win back the crown of Reyna ng Aliwan since Cebu was the champion for two consecutive years until last year they weren’t able to defend the crown. She also wanted to promote the wonders and beauty of Cebu.
2. Candidate No. 5 – Andrea Fe Gonzales Gomez

Representing the beautiful and colorful Panagbenga Festival of Baguio City, Ms. Andrea Gomez was determined to win also the crown of Reyna ng Aliwan 2016 to make her city and family proud. Her motivation is the people believing in her. Interestingly, Ms. Gomez is only 17 and at this very young age, she is now exposed to the big network of beauties.
3. Candidate No. 15 – Christel Marie Layson

Ms. Layson proudly represents the oldest sailing festival of Panay – Paraw Regatta Festival. Her motivation and goal are to make their festival be recognized all over the Philippines since it’s a manifestation of the great heritage of the Malays. The festival is held during the 3rd Sunday of February every year.

Also, a great display of the winners of the 2015 photo contest was presented in a photo exhibit at the atrium.

The night became more exciting as Stephanie Abellanida – Reyna ng Aliwan 2015 festival queen put a show on stage on her gorgeous gown. Ms. Abellanida is from Midsayap, North Cotabato and a real definition of beauty and brains. She graduated Cum Laude in Accountancy and is now preparing for the CPA Board Exam. She became also a part of the Binibining Pilipinas
Papa Jack

Being famously known as the love guru at 90.7 Love Radio, Papa Jack is also blessed with a great talent in singing and playing instruments. He serenaded the candidates and cheering the night singing “Kung Tayo’y Matanda” and “Itanong Mo Sa Akin”.
