2GO Mobilizes 149 Volunteers for Nationwide International Coastal Cleanup

Manila, Philippines — 2GO Group, Inc. strengthened its environmental sustainability efforts by mobilizing 149 employee-volunteers across major coastal destinations in the Philippines for this year’s International Coastal Cleanup (ICC), in partnership with SM Cares.

The nationwide initiative brought together 2GO employees in Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, Davao, Cebu, and Manila, where volunteers helped remove waste from coastal areas and supported efforts to maintain cleaner shorelines and healthier communities.

In Manila alone, 2GO volunteers collected 207 kilograms of waste from the cleanup sites. Across all participating locations, the company estimates that its 149 employee-volunteers helped divert approximately 768 kilograms of coastal waste.

2GO Supports International Coastal Cleanup Across the Philippines

The International Coastal Cleanup is an annual global initiative that encourages communities, organizations, businesses, and volunteers to take action against marine and coastal pollution.

For 2GO, participation goes beyond sending employee-volunteers to cleanup sites. The transportation and logistics company also provides materials and logistical assistance to help make nationwide cleanup activities more organized and efficient.

2GO has partnered with SM Cares for the International Coastal Cleanup since 2023. Since then, the company has expanded its contribution through volunteer participation, material donations, and logistics support.

Gloves and Logistics Support for Coastal Cleanup Volunteers

For this year’s ICC activities, 2GO donated protective gloves for volunteers participating in coastal cleanup operations.

The contribution builds on the company’s previous support. In 2024 and 2025, 2GO donated cleanup sacks used during coastal cleanup activities.

The company also provided transportation and logistics services to deliver heavy-duty weighing scales to cleanup sites nationwide.

The logistics support builds on an initiative that began in 2025. The weighing scales allowed participating cleanup sites to accurately measure and document the amount of waste collected during the activities.

149 Employee-Volunteers Join Nationwide Cleanup

Employee participation remained a key part of 2GO’s contribution to the campaign.

A total of 149 2GO employee-volunteers participated in cleanup activities at five major locations across the country. Their participation supported local efforts to remove waste from coastal areas and encouraged greater awareness of responsible waste management.

In Manila, volunteers collected 207 kilograms of waste. Across all participating locations, 2GO estimates that approximately 768 kilograms of coastal waste were diverted through the combined efforts of its volunteers.

The figures highlight how coordinated community participation can contribute to broader environmental initiatives, particularly when volunteer efforts are supported by the right equipment, supplies, and logistics.
