When we said addictive, we really mean it!
It’s the weekend, and you know what it means — Netflix and binge-eat! Fortunately, Irvin’s sent us their latest flavor of their salted egg chips; the Cassava Chip flavor and it became my instant favorite!
Here’s what I found out!
I’m giving this a 5-star for the packaging! They’ve sent us Cassava chips in two sizes, one 230g, and one 105g. I was amazed by how the packaging is distinct. I’ve seen their previous packaging before in Megamall, and is definitely bigger in real life, as compared to what is advertised on their website. I also loved the matte finish packaging and enticing design that will make anyone drool! As a matter of fact, the upper part of the bag looks like a caution tape, which makes it even more interesting.
They also have a tip section at the back on how you can fully enjoy these chips to the fullest; either as a side dish or by itself. Plus! Unlike other snacks, it’s built with a seal so anyone can reseal the pouch if they want to save some for later.
The Taste Test
Six words: Best thing I ate this week. When the packaging said dangerously addictive, they really mean it. I found myself finishing and munching the chips piece after piece all by myself. It’s fragrant and crispy, not too salty, less greasy, and is really flavorful with a hint of spice. Make sure to shake the pouch well before eating. The Cassava chips were all covered with chili padi and curry leaves by the way.
4.5 of 5. From the moment I opened the packaging, down to the last chip, it smelled and tasted good! Its huge opening provided room for two hands on getting chips in the pouch. The only downside is the limited amount of chips inside (well, there will never be enough TBH), but overall, it’s a great snack! I would definitely be purchasing more soon!
Irvin’s is the brainchild of Irvin Gunawan. The Singapore brand has made its reputation of making salted egg snacks without using any preservatives, thus only the best and freshest ingredients. It is now only a favorite snack in Singapore, but here in the Philippines as well.
