With prizes ranging from the 12 local and international round-trip airfares, prizes from Cebu Pacific Air, Tourism Malaysia, and products from Vaude, Merrell, Canon, and Jack ’n Jill Magic Crackers, Team Tuklas really brought it home this year. The team of Esme Escoto, Floyd Patricio, and Gab Saplagio of UP Diliman also brought home amazing stories, photos, and memories of their adventures.
Juan for Fun Backpacker Challenge 2014
Every year, the Cebu Pacific Juan for Fun Ultimate Backpacker Challenge is meant to bring together company teams and get some publicity for the sponsors. And of course it’s always good for some laughs and a bit of learning about the world.
Team Tuklas from UP Diliman wins the Grand Prize at Cebu Pacific Juan for Fun Backpacker Challenge
There were five teams in all, and they completed challenges in six destinations (down from seven due to unforeseen circumstances). Over 9 days, all teams demonstrated skills, showed off their silly or wacky sides, and attempted to capture the attention of the country, sponsors, and judges.
For example, Jack ’n Jill Magic Crackers gave out a ‘Best Magic Moment’ prize to Team Juanderlust. Merrell gave out a prize for ‘Twitter Favorite’ to Team Suldado de Dora, who also placed second after Team Tuklas. Coming in 3rd was Team Juanabees.
Team Tuklas members were quick with their responses to where they’d be taking their 12 local and international flights. Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, and Sydney were their first responses, but that leaves them open for other options. Of course they may or may not have known that those three locations are all destinations for Cebu Pacific, who sponsored the flight prizes.
