Take A Thrilling Food-Centric Road Trip with Andrew Zimmern’s Driven By Food
If you’re going on a vacation, there’s nothing quite like having a local show you around. That’s when you get a real feel for the place and find out just how people from this part of the world live their days. Forget to get tour guides to bring you around – the best person who usually knows what’s going on in their town is the taxi driver. This is the interesting concept of Andrew Zimmern’s new Driven by Food show.
That’s right – behind the wheels, taxi drivers are the most underrated tour guides of any city. Not even a born and bred New Yorker knows New York the way a taxi driver does.
Hacking the Taxi Cab
Making good use of the taxi driver’s natural excellence when it comes to trips and destinations, Andrew Zimmern is hacking onto this knowledge for his brand new travel series! Instead of just interesting ‘places’ however, the focus of the trip is something much more interesting: food.
Launched as “Driven By Food” by Andrew Zimmern, this brand new series will throw the ‘guide’ out the window and just take things in stride with the help of a willing and abled taxi driver. No need to research ahead of time to find out what food is BIG in the city – instead, Zimmern will just hop onto a taxi and see where his new best friend takes him.
This unique journey will give viewers a unique eye view of what’s it like to REALLY be in the know when it comes to local food. No itineraries to worry about, each minute is a luxury so that viewers can fully find out what’s really on offer from the locals.
Driven By Food Premiere
For its premiere, Driven By Food takes a look at one of the most food-driven places in Tennessee where he’ll be welcomed by eager people just waiting for him to taste what every local has grown up with. There’s also a side trip to the Music Row and a session together with some of the most remarkable names in country music.
Future episodes, however, will be much more extensive as Zimmern goes beyond Unoted States shores. Part of the travel destinations include a stint at Rio de Janeiro followed by a stay in Bangkok and who knows where else afterward. With each stop, Andrew Zimmerns’ Driven by Food will be showcasing only the most authentic, locally-known food that every resident in the area has eaten since childhood. To add to that would be a view of local entertainment and of course, local culture.
