Aglicay Beach Resort
We spent 5 days in Romblon touring the different islands like Cobrador Island, Cantigas River, Cresta de Gallo, Bon Bon and Nonok Beach. On our last night, we went to look for a place to just chill and rest before we head home. But of course, we still wanted somewhere along a beach. The Aglicay Beach resort was a good candidate for all that.

We got a beachfront villa for 3 pax which costs Php 2,000. This does not include breakfast. We each had queen-sized bed. Technically, it could fit a group of 6 persons. The air conditioned room was sprawling and very spacious.
The bathroom has enough space, but it does need a bit of sprucing. What the resort lacks in its bathroom is made up with the aircon of the beachfront villas and the scenery of the resort itself. I recommend that you rent their beachfront villa.
If you are less of a beach person and more of a mountain person, you can rent their hillside rooms. These rooms are cheaper than the beachfront villa. But, both are with air condition and have similar bathrooms as well.

The next day, we hiked the little hill to watch the sunrise. It took no more than 5 minutes to get to. We saw an awesome view of the cove. I further tried to follow the walk path. It seemed like it leads to a further trek to more beaches. It didn’t seem a long trek. But, my body could already feel the aches after all the tours and activities we’ve done around Romblon Province. I just stayed at the first peak and enjoyed the view and the fresh air.

After a while, we moved to the back side, there was a little hut where you can sit. My friend, Marla and I just sat there and took some time to take in the beauty that was right before us.

There was a beach there too, but rocky! There was a cow too and lots of flowers and trees- very into nature.
We enjoyed sitting on the tire swing while enjoying the view of the beach. Other than the beach, the resort has a tennis court and an area for beach volleyball. Indoor facilities available for rent include table tennis, billiards, videoke, playing cards, scrabble, chess, and pocketbooks.
For other activities, the beach resort can help you get around Tablas Island. They assist arranging day tours which include Island Hopping, visiting Marine Sanctuary and Scuba Diving.
The beach resort offers dishes cooked with the fresh catch of the day. The dishes may cost around Php 250 to 300 and may already be good for two persons. But, additional options on their menu may be needed. Also, the orders may take a while. So, best if you order one or two hours ahead.

There is no kitchen or refrigerator that the guest can use. Good thing the staff can take the raw ingredients you have with you and turn them into delectable dishes.
The Beach Resort has an event place or banquet hall that can accommodate 25 up to 250 guests. There, a company event or family reunion can be held. The resort even has a space outside also a site where an event can be held like a beachfront wedding or wedding reception. I believe the beach resort is also an ideal place for a prenuptial photo shoot, especially the place is idyllic and not overcrowded.
The Aglicay Beach Resort is only one and a half hours away from San Agustin. The place is about 30 minutes away if you’re coming from or going to the Tablas Airport. However, the beach resort is far off from the main road. It is best to hire a van rental in the San Agustin town proper or at the airport which may cost around Php 3,500.00 or 5,000.00. For a cheaper alternative, hire a tricycle going to the resort for around Php 500 or a motorbike for around Php 150 depending on where you’ll be coming from.

Overall, I‘d recommend this place for your alone time, for a couple getaway, for family reunions, and for company events. The Beach Resort staff can help you organize your event and your Island tours. The accommodation is simple but everything you’ll need.
