Cebu Pacific Gives Free Flights to Wounded in Action Soldiers
Soldiers fight to death, anytime of the day, anywhere they are. Giving them with additional “perks” and “token of gratitude” are just simple things to express how thankful everyone are for them.
One of the leading airflight company in the Philippines, Cebu Pacific Air announced that they are giving free airlift services to military troops who were wounded in action (WIA) during the ongoing battle against terrorist in Marawi City.
The first batch of recipients of Cebu Pacific Air’s free service were eleven Philippine Army WIA soldiers. They availed of the free service last September 04. These army men were discharged from confinement at the Army General Hospital in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.
Before returning to their full active duty status, the soldiers needs to go back back to their respective units.
The Philippine Army said, “WIA government troops who are fit enough for commercial flights can be accommodated on Cebu Pacific flights from Cagayan de Oro or Manila, and flown to any of the 37 domestic destinations of CEB.”
Wounded in action soldiers were also provided with free 40 kilograms of baggage allowance as compensation and gratitude for their never-ending service to the mother country.
Philippine Army Public Affairs Office chief Lt. Col. Ray Tiongson said appreciated the airline company’s effort and said, “It is with deep gratitude that we accept this kind of gesture of support for our soldiers who are now returning to their respective units for combat. It is a meaningful gesture to make your soldiers feel that their sacrifices are being recognized and appreciated.”
This special action of Cebu Pacific earned more respect from the Netizens. Soldiers, who were risking their lives by battling different terrorists in order to retain the peace and security in the country should be commended.
