Trail Adventours Promotes Hike-for-a-Cause to Help Refugees
Manila, Philippines – Climbing Mount Everest isn’t an easy task for a beginner. It’s not even easy for the most advanced climbers. You’ll need to go on a 12-day hike to reach the Everest Base Camp. The oxygen levels, as you go up, will decrease so you’ll find yourself panting as you go higher.

Coby and Guido Sarreal are brothers and the co-founders of Trail Adventours. Trail Adventours is a hiking tour company. They’ve been doing it for more than 20 years so you can say that they’re pros. They have been to Mount Everest before but the all Pinoy Mountaineering team they led this time is to support ‘Billion Kilometers to Safety’ campaign.
The campaign is run by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the agency for UN Refugee. The climb happened last October. It’s dedicated to the virtual movement to support the world’s refugees. UNHCR says that refugees walk about 2 billion kilometers each year to go somewhere safe. Angie Tan-Sarreal of Trail Adventours said that it’s the little ways to help that counts.
She also shares how a simple hike can change lives. She cited that the refugees walk to faraway places to save themselves. This is a way to help them and also be thankful for what you have. The hike to Mount Everest proves that you can do anything when you want to help. Climbing Mount Everest is hard but these mountaineers did it for the love of the refugees and the cause.
Trail Adventours is a supporter of the movement that’s why they’re organizing another hike-for-a-cause event this December 15, 2018. Interested parties can embark on beginner summit to sea adventure for Php2,500 only. The tour will bring you to Mt. Gulugod Baboy in Batangas and a side trip to Sombrero Island. You will be going with the Trail Adventours team. You will also help in raising funds for the refugees.
