Cebu City, Philippines – I recently visited Cebu for the grand launch of the newest hotel in downtown Cebu – One Central Hotel (Check Rates). The newest hotel in downtown Cebu is a premier business hotel where there’s no room for simple because this place is the epitome of luxury despite its affordable accommodations.

As a traveler, I love that its location at the corner of Leon Kilat and Sanciangko Streets is the perfect spot to start my journey to the hotspots in Cebu because the hotel is near the bus terminal and port area. The hotel itself has a wonderful view of the city, so mornings and evenings spent inside the guestroom are enchanting. The hotel’s roof deck is perfect for a chill time by yourself or with the company.
Location
The location of the hotel has an interesting story. It’s standing where an old lumber store used to be located, and it’s also near the Cebu’s Central Train Station’s old location, which was considered the heart of trade and commerce in older times.

Today, the area is still bustling with people and businesses. Up to this day, its location ensures more time to tour what Cebu has to offer. It can also be the starting point for a walking tour of downtown Cebu’s hidden gems.
Rooms
Their rooms are cozy with some touch of color but mostly wood. The rooms offer standard features and furniture, plus a TV and fridge. It’s spacious enough to keep me comfortable.

If you are a digital nomad like me, you will love their fast and FREE Wi-Fi.
Facilities
The hotel can hold a large number of people with its 157 rooms. It’s also not just for travelers but also for business and other groups of people since they have meeting rooms and a grand ballroom where special events can occur.

Fitness buffs don’t need to neglect their regimes because right at the hotel is the fitness gym and a swimming pool.
Food
Their all-day dining restaurant, Café Tartanilla, is set to tickle everyone’s taste buds with their wide array of buffet meals. The restaurant also holds the longest happy hour in downtown.

Bluewater Hospitality manages One Central Hotel. They own a chain of resort hotels in Visayas and Mindanao, which stays true to its Filipino roots. The company has been in the hospitality business for more than three decades and takes pride in their Cebuano way of hospitality called ‘amuma with excellence.’

This means that when you go to any of their hotels, you’ll always be treated like a friend staying for the night, and it’s a guarantee you’ll be having a good time.
