Our 4th and final day itinerary was a visit to one of the most beautiful resorts in the Philippines. Together with fellow travel bloggers, print media and the members of PHILTOA, we left Oriental Hotel early and went straight to Embarcadero de Legaspi for our speed boat ride to Misibis Bay Resort in Cagraray Island.

Riding their speedboat was an experience in itself, we had a nice and smooth ride plus a rewarding view of Embarcadero Bay Walk and the beautiful province of Sorsogon from afar.

We arrived at Misibis Bay Resort and Casino at around 11am and from the docking area, we proceeded to the reception area for a quick orientation while waiting for the rest of the delegation. In less than 15 minutes, the rest of our team arrived and our keys were finally distributed.

After leaving our things at our respective villas, we headed straight to The Spice Market – the resort’s main restaurant located near the reception area. I read so much about their Lunch Buffet and I must agree, this restaurant really offers sumptuous variety of food.

We were seated right next to sushi station, too bad Im not a huge fan of Sushi but I enjoyed their good selection of Maki and Cheese platter. One of the best appetizer they have is their Taco. Imagine a DIY taco station where you can select your own condiments like spicy ground beef, green and black olives, grated cheese, beans etc.

On the other side of the restaurant, a long buffet table features Bicolandia’s all time favorite Bicol Express, Pinangat and other popular Pinoy dishes. For those who loves grilled food, a grilling station is available outside where you can have squid, pork, chicken and other seafood grilled your way.

For desserts, there’s a candy station for kids, a halo-halo station and a separate temperature controlled storage that has variety of cakes, panna cotta, cheesecakes and other pastries. The food selection is really good and the taste is truly impressive.

After lunch, the resort officer toured us around the hotel property. We visited different types of room, their amenities and even the hospital and church which they built for local community in the island. It was my second time visiting the resort. My first was during its development stage and I was truly surprised at how it was developed into a luxury resort and natural playground for tourists.

One thing I like about the resort is its huge and numerous pools that surrounds the villas. Our room was located outside the Main area but we also have a medium sized pool.

After our resort tour, we went back to our rooms to prepare for our intro diving activity. I decided not to join in the diving activity since I still have ear pains but I joined them swimming at the diving area.

After our activities we went back to the resort for the short press conference and the official launch of the 24th Philippine Travel Mart. Mr. Cesar Cruz, the President of the Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA) answered all the questions from the media participants.

After the press conference we visited “Five Views” – a hill side venue where we had premium beers, wines, mojito, margarita and delicious canapés.

We were supposed to have our dinner at the amphitheater filled with candle lights but due to the heavy rains we were instructed to to to the restaurant first to have our dinner. Im not feeling well that time so instead of staying at the pavilion for the party, I decided to just sleep early to prepare also for the early morning activity.

The next morning, we gathered at the ATV area near our Villa for our ATV adventure preparation. Before the ride, the facilitators gave us a short briefing about riding the ATV. Since we were plenty in our group, three ATV facilitators accompanied us throughout the ride to guarantee our safety.

Minutes after, we started our amazing 6.72 km hilltop ATV ride. The experience is truly exhilarating and as we drive in different kinds of terrain we enjoyed the Albay Gulf’s panoramic view as we reach the finish line. From concrete road to rocky and muddy terrains, we all conquered the obstacles and reached the peak which is 863 ft. above sea level.

Upon arrival, we had a picnic breakfast on top of the hill while enjoying the beautiful view and the cold morning breeze. The ATV ride back to the resort was not that easy due to some slippery spots and sudden curves but the ride is all about fun and it was one of the best ATV rides I’ve ever had.
