Manila, Philippines – Why do you want to come to the Philippines, and Why should I go to the Philippines? This is probably a common question that you may hear from a foreigner when you invite them to visit the country. Now you can quickly answer that question by simply saying… because “It’s more fun in the Philippines.”
Department of Tourism, in partnership with BBDO Guerrero, has come up with the new tourism slogan – It’s more fun in the Philippines. During the event, Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr. said that they “want the world not to watch but to participate” in the new campaign.

More like the “More than the Usual” Campaign, which was launched in 2001 by the former DOT Secretary Dick Gordon, the “It’s more fun in the Philippines” campaign is equally convincing for me. Do you wonder why?
Both campaigns were conceptualized by BDO Guererro Philippines – an advertising agency appointed in December after an exhaustive pitch overseen by Secretary Jimenez himself and approved by the President and members of the Cabinet.

“Our strategy is simple: while other countries invite you to observe, Filipinos can promise a more heartfelt and interesting experience. So wherever you go, whatever you do in the country, it’s the Filipinos that will complete your vacation and will make your holiday unforgettable,” says the new Tourism Secretary, Ramon Jimenez, Jr.

Boracay is just another ordinary island if you remove Filipinos in Boracay! Why because Filipinos are the ones making Boracay Fun and enjoyable. The new tourism campaign’s focus is the country’s core strength, the campaign singles out what no other destination can offer – the Filipino people.

For example, the Lonely Planet guidebook calls Filipinos’ among the most easygoing and ebullient people anywhere.’

The new Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez said that the new promotional slogan is Probably the most unusual Philippine tourism history campaign.
The new video and photo promotional materials show how fun it is to be in the Philippines. Showing statements like Commuting More fun in the Philippines, Getting upstairs is more fun in the Philippines, and Status updates are more fun in the Philippines.
The Filipinos are already known worldwide to be one of the happiest and warmest people on earth. The campaign hopes to enjoin the whole country in creating a positive buzz of the tagline inviting more foreign and local tourists to book airline tickets and discover the Philippines and its natural wonders.
As the international campaign is underway, the DOT is developing a national initiative under ‘#1FORFUN’ to rally the nation. Check out their new DOT campaign website http://itsmorefuninthephilippines.com/. It’s more fun in the Philippines on Facebook.
