Etihad Airways opens premium lounge in New York

Recognized as the “World’s Leading Airline” in the recently concluded 22nd World Travel Awards, Etihad Airways has surely come a long way keeping its service top-notch for years. Now, it has set a new benchmark after the airline has officially opened, through Etihad Airways President and CEO James Hogan, its new First and Business Class lounge at New York’s JFK International Airport.

Etihad Airways’ new First and Business Class Lounge at New York’s John Kennedy International Airport includes an exclusive premium space for guests of The Residence by Etihad™, a sculptural showcase bar and lounge and custom furnishings.

The newly opened lounge is located just adjacent to the gate area after the security checkpoint in the airport’s International Terminal 4. It provides guests a unique environment reflective of 21st century Abu Dhabi modernism. Apart from this, the lounge gives discerning travelers the best of airline luxury and comfort.

The airline’s new JFK lounge is the airline’s second that is located in the US. It joins its network of lounges in Abu Dhabi, Dublin, Frankfurt, Heathrow, London, Manchester, Paris, Sydney, and Washington, D.C. The lounge is the Etihad Airways’ first showcase of its branding, ‘Facets of Abu Dhabi’, with the colors perfectly picked to present the variety that there is in the UAE landscape, from the lighter hues of the northern emirates to the darker sands of Liwa.

In the lounge, you will see a sculptural showcase bar and lounge with an extensive selection of cocktail and mocktail selection created in collaboration with London-based beverage consultancy leader, Fluid Movement – supporting the airline’s commitment to culinary innovation and world-class booze. Guests in the dining area can choose from a la carte and international buffet options.

Custom-furnished by Boss, the lounge grants its guests a range of unique seating styles throughout. Additional features you can look forward to include luxurious restrooms with showers and changing rooms, male and female ablution and prayer rooms, a library, a luggage storage, and an extra-private area for guests of The Residence

President Hogan said that the opening of Etihad’s new premium lounge in JFK airport “reinforces our commitment to investing in the travel experience and providing our guests with the highest levels of comfort, luxury and world-class hospitality at every point in their journey – on the ground and in the air.”

Etihad Airways’ A380 daily flights to and from Abu Dhabi and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport started on November 23, 2015, although it had already began operations to fly to New York’s JFK airport on October 26, 2006. The service substitutes for a Boeing 777 flight and complements a second daily B777 service between the two cities (operated by Etihad Airways on a Jet Airways-liveried aircraft). Now, Etihad Airways offers double daily, non-stop flights to Abu Dhabi.

Other than the Abu-Dhabi-New York route, Etihad Airways provides daily services between Abu Dhabi and Washington, D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. It also operates three weekly flights to Dallas/Fort Worth.
