AirAsia received three recognitions in the World Travel Awards 2015
The 14-year-old AirAsia Group continues to fly high as it won three prestigious awards in the World Travel Awards 2015 last Sunday, December 13.
AirAsia received three recognitions. The first one is for the coveted “World’s Leading Low Cost Airline” title in which AirAsia has achieved for the third consecutive year. This, actually, is what AirAsia aspires to do – to fly people at a cheaper price.

Aside from successfully defending its throne as the number one low cost airline in the world, AirAsia also clinched the titles for the “World’s Leading Low Cost Airline Website” and “World’s Leading Low Cost Airline App” for the first time! It also got nominated under the “World’s Leading Cabin Crew” category.
On behalf of AirAsia, AirAsia Berhad CEO Aireen Omar received the awards at the recently held World Travel Awards Gala 2015.
In a statement, AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandes said, “As we work towards continuous improvement of service excellence, these three awards, especially the recognition of World’s Leading Low Cost Airline for the 3rd consecutive year is incredibly encouraging. We are also thrilled to be nominated in the “World’s Leading Cabin Crew” category. 2015 was a challenging year but I am very proud of my team for banding together and working hard to emerge stronger and better, learning from all of our experiences. This is a true testament to the efforts we are making to strengthen our services and our network in addition to the several enhancements made for our website and mobile app. We are committed more than ever to continue to improve on the quality of our customer care services and look forward to exceed the flying aspirations of our guests for 2016”.
“Our sincere appreciation goes to our guests and members of the travel industry for their continuous support and vote. To be nominated and subsequently win on a global platform is truly humbling and I dedicate these awards to the 17,000 AirAsia Allstars (employees) around the globe.”
The airline also made history when it won the title “Asia’s Leading Cabin Crew,” defeating all the other full-service carriers in the category at the World Travel Awards (Asia & Australasia) Gala 2015.
