Ein Prosit! Ein Prosit! Der Gemütlichkeit or A toast! A toast to cheer and good time in English are the words that came from the famous Oktoberfest theme song. This anthem takes all the listeners, guests, and gourmands in a joyful renditions with the celebration of the much-awaited annual festival. On the October 6th and 7th of this year, German Club Manila will be celebrating its 79th Oktoberfest in Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila (hotel info).
Now on its 8th year at Sofitel, this is the most authentic German beer festival in the Philippines that will be held at the expansive Harbor Garden Tent of Sofitel. The event is paying homage to the time-honored Bavarian customs. The marquee will be transformed into a traditional biergarten that will feature the most authentic Oktoberfest event in the Philippines.
Each evening will serve 2,000 guests. The event will also showcase a grand feast of sumptuous Bavarian specialties that include roast calf, roasted pork knuckles, grilled German sausages, laugen rolls, and mouthwatering pastries. Of course, the event will not be complete without an ice-cold San Miguel beer.
The exciting event also feats guests from musical entertainment that will fill the nights with entertainment. The Bavarian Sound Express, flying straight from Germany, will also entertain the guests with their traditional Bavarian Oktoberfest music and international hits. A fun-filled program will also feature the annual beer-drinking contests. There will also be a raffle draw where the grand prize winner will take home a trip to any destination of choice in Germany. For a truly authentic Bavarian celebration, women will also dress up in colorful dirndls while men will use traditional lederhosen as they take part in one of the biggest international event in the country.
