Fly for Less: AirAsia rewards offers 50% Pointsback on Eligible Flight Redemptions
Travelers looking to turn their everyday spending into their next getaway have a new reason to check their AirAsia points balance.

AirAsia Rewards
AirAsia Rewards, the loyalty arm of Capital A, has launched Points Booking, an enhanced flight redemption feature designed to give members greater flexibility, value, and confidence when booking eligible AirAsia flights.
The new feature comes with dedicated seat allocations on eligible flights, available for bookings made at least 30 days before departure. To celebrate the launch, AirAsia Rewards is also offering 50% points back on eligible flight redemptions made until September 30.
That means members can redeem flights with their accumulated points and receive back half of the points used after the promotional period, making the offer particularly appealing to frequent travelers and points collectors.
Get 50% of Your Points Back
Under the launch promotion, eligible flight redemptions made during the campaign period qualify for 50% points back.
For example, a flight from Manila to Caticlan, Boracay can be redeemed for as little as 12,000 AirAsia points, covering the all-in fare including the base fare, taxes, and fees. The redemption is valued at approximately PHP 1,845.
With the 50% points-back promotion, members could receive 6,000 points back after the campaign, effectively reducing the trip’s cost in points.
Another example is the Manila-Kaohsiung route, which can be redeemed for 20,000 AirAsia points, with an all-in fare value of approximately PHP3,076.
The offer covers eligible domestic and international destinations across AirAsia’s network.
More Certainty When Booking With Points
One of the biggest changes introduced through Points Booking is the availability of dedicated seat allocations on eligible flights.
This is designed to make using points for travel more predictable, particularly for members who like to plan their holidays well in advance.
Shannon Liew, Group Head of Loyalty at AirAsia Rewards, said the enhanced feature is intended to make loyalty simpler and more rewarding while giving members more confidence when planning their trips.
The program also aims to convert points earned through everyday spending into real travel experiences, encouraging members to keep earning points for future adventures.
How to Book an AirAsia Flight Using Points
The Points Booking feature is available through the AirAsia MOVE app. Members need a minimum balance of just 500 AirAsia points to redeem eligible fares.
Travelers can also choose to pay completely with points or use a combination of points and cash, with any remaining balance payable by credit card where applicable.

To redeem a flight through Points Booking:
- Open the AirAsia MOVE app and select the “Points” tab.
- Scroll down and tap “Fly on Points Booking” deals.
- Choose your destination and a travel date at least 30 days ahead.
- Adjust the number of points you want to use with the slider.
- Tap “Redeem” to complete the booking.
Turn Everyday Spending Into Your Next Trip
For travelers who regularly use credit cards, bank rewards programs, or other loyalty programs, AirAsia points can also be accumulated through eligible points-conversion programs and participating lifestyle partners.
This gives members additional ways to build their points balance, particularly when they are short of the amount needed for a particular flight redemption.
AirAsia rewards also periodically runs promotional campaigns that offer a 100% bonus on AirAsia points when eligible credit cards, banks, and other loyalty programs are converted into AirAsia points. These offers are subject to campaign conditions and participating partners.
A New Way to Stretch Your Travel Budget
The launch of Points Booking comes at a time when travelers are increasingly looking for ways to reduce flight costs without sacrificing the opportunity to explore new destinations.
With dedicated seat allocations, a relatively low minimum points balance, flexible points-and-cash payment options, and the limited-time 50% pointsback promotion, AirAsia rewards members have another way to stretch their travel budget.
For frequent AirAsia flyers, the promotion is also a good opportunity to check unused points and see whether they can be converted into a weekend getaway, beach escape, or international adventure.
The 50% pointsback promotion runs until September 30, so travelers planning their next trip may want to check eligible Points Booking fares before the offer ends.
