Bluewater Panglao Beach Resort Review 2.0
I was recently invited to explore Bohol on a historical perspective. Each day was jam-packed with adventures, fun, and lots of learning experience. It was only appropriate that we stay in a similarly themed hotel… and Bluewater Panglao (resort info) was the perfect match for our three-day, two-night tour of beautiful Bohol.

Bluewater Panglao Beach Resort (resort reviews) had a very luxurious feel to it, yet it magnificently incorporates a close-to-home atmosphere. The interior, the staff, the location, and my room, are just some of the things that I love about this beachside paradise. Below are the nine reasons why you, too, should stay at Bluewater Panglao:
1. Fancy Filipino themed rooms

My premier deluxe room at this hotel was simply amazing. We had a mini bar, a cable TV, and a private veranda with a view of the main swimming pool. It had a very relaxing and cozy feeling, perfect for our Bohol tour. The primary colors of the rooms, gold, brown, and red, blended so well.
2. Sky-lit bathroom

Our bathroom was HUGE. Imagine two large doors, leading to a bathroom, with the size of an entire room on its own. The large, free-standing bathtub and the separate shower pod were fit for a king. The skylight window was a genius addition to the elegance of the bathroom. The translucence allowed natural light from the sky to enter.
3. Big cantilevered beds

My bed was so comfortable, it lured me to slumber the moment I lay down on it. It was not too soft nor too hard, and it was perfectly huge for my liking. My bed was a cantilevered type, which is, again, another genius way of designing the already-elegant room.
4. Two outdoor swimming pools

It would not be an overstatement if I said that the main swimming pool is the centerpiece of this beach resort. This pool is constructed with facilities like a bridge connecting the two poolside buildings that house the guest rooms. There is another infinity pool as well, which is brilliantly decorated with floating center island gardens and a view of the horizon beyond.
5. Amuma Spa

The term amuma is a Bisaya term which roughly translates to “nurture” or ‘care for”. The Amuma Spa in Bluewater Panglao sure does a great job in pag-aamuma. The massage therapists use fresh organic materials from Bohol for their scents and massage oils, contributing to a natural and immersive experience.
6. Vast garden

The approximate 6-hectare property of Bluewater Panglao is mostly covered in green gardens. This is one of my most favorite thing about the hotel—the natural and chill environment just captures Bohol so much. Walking around the hotel gardens was as adventure in itself. If you prefer more exciting adventures, the hotel has other activities like fishing, the seasonal mango picking, ATV trail, and several other tours.
7. Really good food

Bluewater Panglao has a restaurant and a poolside bar, named Aplaya (“seaside” in Spanish), and Baroto. Aplaya offers a wide selection of international and local dishes, and I absolutely love the exotic flavors of their fresh seafood cuisine. Baroto, on the other hand, offers a lot of light snacks and cold drinks, and close at 10 PM.
8. The beach

The guests of Bluewater Panglao have an exclusive access to the white sand beach just south of the resort. I admit that I don’t have a beach body to flaunt, but what makes me love the beach so much is that it serves as an extra escape from all the busyness outside. What is more is that for our first night here, we had a boodle fight dinner at the beach, so I have really good memories here.
9. The staff
My stay in Bluewater Panglao (book online) would never have been this memorable if it weren’t for the very courteous staff. Its amazing how each of them remember the names of their guests:) They were all so warm and hospitable. This is a given for all hotels, but each member of the staff here is nice in a whole other level.

Bluewater Panglao is one of the three hotels of Bluewater Resorts. It opened in 2011 and has been wooing guests ever since. The hotel group consistently receives awards. In 2016, Bluewater Panglao received the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
