2 PH airports cited on 2019 ‘SleepingInAirport’s Best’ list

Two Philippine airports in the Visayas region are cited in the 2019 Sleeping in Airport’s Best Airports in Asia list, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) last Oct. 30.

These airports include Mactan Cebu International Airport that ranked 16th and Iloilo International Airport that placed 18th on the list.

According to the report of pna.gov.ph, the resource website sleepinginairports.net is annually conducting a survey in a bid to check which airports provide the best experiences for travelers.

Criteria include food options, services, comfort, security or immigration, cleanliness, ease of transit, as well as “sleepability.”

The website says airports that topped the list have a lot of things in common, which include rest areas, ample seating, security procedures, plenty of food options, and efficient check-in.

“Some airports go above-and-beyond with perks like in-terminal movie theatres and gardens,” says the website.
