Zooper Cruise: Rediscovering Manila’s Heritage Spots

Touring into the heart of Manila on land is obviously the most common mode of transport available around the city.

The good news is that there is now another way to tour Manila and that is on board the Zooper Cruise.

Following its launching in August this year, the Zooper Cruise takes fun culture vultures on a wondrous ride along the Pasig River amid the magnificence of Manila’s rich heritage spots.

This historical cruise paves a memorable ride along the country’s founding channel for trade between the Philippines and the neighboring countries of China, Indonesia, Borneo and India, presenting them a passage to the walled city of Intramuros, which during the Spanish Colonial Period in the 16th century held the government seat.

From this the oldest walled district of Manila, the Zooper Cruise traverses to Fort Santiago, the Spanish Conquistadores’ premier defense fortress. Here, Zooper guests get the feel the fort’s intense history, from being a link to the spice trade to the Americas and Europe for 333 years, a witness to National Hero Jose Rizal’s last masterpiece before his execution, a venue for treasures hidden during the World War II, to what it is now, which is a place revered for its daunting history and amazing architecture.

The Zooper tour then progresses to Chinatown, which is the world’s oldest dwelling for Chinese immigrants, dating back to 1594.

Completing this historical ride are amenities to make the ride more enjoyable for guests, such as good ambiance and music, snacks and drinks, photo souvenir and a lot more.
