Bulog Dos Island is a sandbar in Calamianes Philippines near Malaroroy Peninsula and Bulalacao Island. It may be small in size and only requires an hour of stop to explore, but its pristine and picturesque beauty is what attracts tourists the most, a unique sandbar with soft sugar-like white sands with stunning sceneries that will surely take your breath away. The island also has plenty of corals and fishes in the area, and there are no rocks, making it ideal for swimming.

How to Get There

There are many ways to reach Bulog Dos Island, and the most popular and cheapest way is to join a Coron island hopping group tour. You can also stay on the island for the day or explore on your own by renting a private boat in Coron Town, which is very expensive depending on the number of passengers and itinerary, a 1.5 to 2-hour boat ride.

Things to do

Despite its size, Bulog Dos is worth visiting with enough activities to offer to keep tourists busy, and an hour or two is enough to explore the island. Here are some of the things you can do on the island.

Snake-Like Sand Bar

Bulog Dos Island has increased its popularity for its snake-like sand bar with soft fine white sands that stretch into the clear blue waters, an Instagram-worthy spot, so make sure to bring polarizing filters for your camera to get the perfect shots.

Snorkeling

Another must-do on the island is snorkeling since there are no sea urchins in the area, unlike other spots in Coron. You can also spot colorful corals and friendly fishes swimming around the clear waters, so bring your snorkeling gears to explore the abundant marine life in the area.

If you plan to stay near Bulog Dos Island, staying at the Two Seasons Coron Island Resort is recommended, standing at the Malaroyroy Peninsula beside Bulog Dos Island. When it’s low tide, you can also walk or swim near the luxury resort as a strip of sandbar connects the two.

Climb a Small Hill

To make your trip a bit thrilling, climbing up a small hill in the islands will offer you stunning views. It is also perfect for taking pictures. But monkeys are roaming uphill, so be extra careful and never provoke them.

Find your spot and take snapshots

Whether it’s a smartphone or DSLR, there’s a wide variety of photographs you can take in the area. You can go up in the hill, to the sandbar, go to the rock formation or just pose right in the middle of the sandy beach.

Lastly, there is no better way to get that picture-perfect snap of the sandbar without flying your drone. So bring along your travel drones and take that postcard-like beach naps.
