2022 Updated Travel Requirements to Butuan

Butuan City is a highly urbanized city in the CARAGA Region. The city is a popular tourist destination thanks to its natural attractions like the Agusan River and Bunawan Eco Park. Visitors should practice COVID Precautionary Measures such as wearing face masks, frequent hand washing, physical distancing, and getting vaccinated.

As of May 16, 2022, Butuan was placed under Alert Level 01 until June 30, 2022. Only essential, work-related travels and indispensable travels to Butuan are allowed. APORs (Authorized Persons Outside Residence) from National Government Agencies and their agencies must provide their Identification Card, Travel Order, and Travel Itinerary, and pass symptom-screening at entry and exit ports. Other requirements to enter Butuan are listed below.

List of Butuan Travel Requirements

For Fully Vaccinated Travelers

All passengers with travel history outside the CARAGA region are required to present the following:

  1. Valid Government-Issued I.D.
  2. COVID-19 Vaccination Card/Certificate of Quarantine showing the holder’s Vaccination Status
    • Travelers aged 5 years and below are exempted from this requirement provided they are traveling with a parent or guardian who is Fully Vaccinated

For Unvaccinated or Partially Vaccinated Travelers

All passengers with travel history outside the CARAGA region are required to present the following:

  1. Valid Government-Issued I.D.
  2. Negative RT-PCR Test Result or Antigen Test Result from any DOH-accredited laboratories released within seventy-two (72) hours before departure from the point of the origin
    • Unvaccinated and Partially Vaccinated children aged 5 years old to 17 years old are exempted from the vaccination requirement but must present a Negative Antigen Test Result or Negative RT-PCR Test Result taken seventy-two (72) hours prior to their departure from the point of origin
  • Those who have a medical condition that prevents them from being vaccinated may enter the city, provided that they present a signed medical certificate indicating their condition and a negative RT-PCR Test or Antigen Test taken within seventy-two (72) hours prior to departure from the point of origin

Fully Vaccinated Travelers are considered fully vaccinated if:

  1. Traveler has more than or equal to two (2) weeks after having received the second dose in a 2-dose vaccine or;
  2. Traveler has more than or equal to two (2) weeks after having received a single-dose vaccine
