Developed by UK-based technology company Ink, the Cebu Pacific app for Android also allows users to check-in for flights, pay for prepaid baggage, and choose a seat.. Boarding passes are available for printing or saving through an Android device. Any payment is via credit card.

However, mobile check-in is currently only available for people who booked their flights using their mobile device or online. CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog encourages Cebu Pacific guests to take advantage of the new app. The app is a major convenience for passengers eligible for mobile check-in, especially during peak periods when many people are travelling. Passengers who do not have the app can still check-in via the Cebu Pacific website. The can also use any of the self-service kiosks found at the airport.

The iOS version has been downloaded 140,000 since its release, and with more Android users in the Philippines, it is expected that the Android version will be even more popular. The combined downloads will significantly increase the mobile use profile of Cebu Pacific.

Ink also announced plans of releasing improved versions of both the iOS and Android apps in the near future. These will include options such as accumulating Frequent Flyer points, getting travel insurance, and choosing prepaid meals.
