Some people may even think why bother going to the place when it is typically hot, and there‘s nothing to see there but there is a quaint village in this oasis town encircling the green waters of Huacachina Lagoon and surrounded by palm trees that adds to its charm.

There are bars and clubs by the shore, and tourists can use rented dune buggies to roam around the sand dunes and a neighboring village.

Though the weather is severely hot by day and extremely cold by night, and the strong wind may leave you a little off balance, there is a certain allure to this enchanted place.

Since it is a small town, only 96 residents manage their small businesses using the one resource they have: sand.

In addition to its other legends, people widely believe that the natural lake possesses healing powers, attracting even affluent Peruvians captivated by its mystical waters, who attempt to soak in its purported restorative qualities. According to a popular story, a young princess was discovered by a hunter while she was bathing in the lake.

Instead of taking her with him, the hunter left her behind, and as she disappeared into the water, her elegant cloak was left floating on the surface. Over time, this cloak was buried beneath the sand dunes, giving rise to its mysterious, shifting forms.
