After our short tour in Yangon, we boarded our rented Van and headed to New Bagan. Since we will be arriving 12 hours ahead of time for our Old Bagan itinerary, we ended up staying overnight at one of hotels in New Bagan that was recommended by our tour guide.

It was already past 10pm when we arrived at Central Bagan Hotel in New Bagan. Everyone was dead tired but we still managed to have a cup of coffee before everyone eventually agreed to call it a night. After almost 5 hours, we gathered in the hotel’s outdoor restaurant for breakfast then it was followed by a walking tour in New Bagan. Our walking tour ended up with a food trip to take advantage of the free wifi in one of the restaurants near our hotel:)
Burmese Inspired Cottages
We went back to the hotel an hour before our checkout time to prepare and freshen up before heading to Old Bagan. At exactly 11am, we left New Bagan aboard an almost brand new Van we rented for only 10,000 Kyat (approximately P465 or USD10). Upon arrival at the hotel, we were welcomed by the hotel officers including their filipina Executive Chef Jana Garcia.

This hotel is almost 15 minutes drive from the Nyaung Oo airport and all other top destinations in Bagan which is one of the prominent reasons for majority of the travelers to choose this boutique hotel as their place of stay.

If you are too tired to go out to look for a place to eat, you can try their food which I find fairly priced and the taste is also impressive. Breakfast was very tasty, your choice of Omelettes and freshly cooked pancakes and a range of fresh fruit, yoghurt and my favorite is their special bread pudding. For lunch, we enjoyed their “all you can eat noodles” – a wide array of noodle dishes from Asian recipes to Italian tomato based pastas. The indoor restaurant offers scrumptious dishes both Burmese style and other international cuisines.
