Hadefe Beach Cottages
From the Lio Airport, it took us almost 15 minutes to reach Lally and Abet – our landmark to locate the Hadefe Beach Cottages (check rates) in Caalan Beach area. Passing a short alley, a stunning view of Cadlao Island welcomed us – I cant remember how many times i said “Wow” after seeing it. Locating the resort can be unforgiving, specially if you are carrying a heavy bag. We’ve been walking for almost 20 minutes until we reached a reefy beach front where we met a couple who helped us locating the resort.
Lio Airport in El Nido Palawan
Located within a 15-30 minutes walk from the town center of El Nido, you may just find the perfect place to stay : The Hadefe Beach Cottages. If you are looking for luxurious accommodations complete with spa pampering, bar and pool then this is not the place for you.
However if an authentic, friendly, comfortable and affordable accommodation is your desire, then Hadefe Cottages is the perfect choice. The Hadefe Beach Cottages (book online) are managed by the Enor family who also live within the compound. They are very approachable kind and attentive to our needs during our stay.
The seven cottages are situated very close to the beach and you can easily have a stunning ocean views and beautiful sunsets every night. Each cottage is constructed from traditional thatched materials and contains a private bathroom and toilet as well as fan. The grounds are beautiful with plenty of trees and peaceful gardens throughout.
You can also enjoy an unlimited cup of coffee in quaint gazebo which will give you chance to meet fellow guests and share wonderful stories about the island. I had some really interesting conversations with the other folks staying there as well as our hosts.
The Catch? You will have to walk almost half kilometer to reach the town passing by a creepy cemetery while avoiding unexpected road holes at night.. oh I forgot to mention that half of the road is completely covered by darkness… So be sure to bring flashlight all the time.
All being said, I would definitely recommend the Hadefe Beach Cottages for your stay in El Nido. We felt comfortable the entire time, and the staff there really went out of the way to make sure we enjoyed our experience of El Nido to its fullest extent.
