Tips for First-Timers

  • There is no need to return to the Philippines to renew a passport. You may renew it at the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Hong Kong.
  • Create an email address. Only Gmail and Yahoo email addresses are accepted if you are going to book an online passport appointment.

For Adults

  • Latest passport and photocopy of the data page
  • Accomplished application form
  • Your Hong Kong permanent ID card and a photocopy (for Hong Kong residents)
  • Photocopy of your latest visa
  • 7×10 inch brown envelope with HK$ 32.00 stamps
  • Your personal appearance

For Minor Applicants

  • Report of Birth issued by the Philippine Consulate General (if the applicant was born in Hong Kong) or PSA Birth Certificate (if born in the Philippines or other countries) and photocopy
  • Latest passport and photocopy of the data page
  • Parents’ passports and photocopies of the data page
  • Parents’ PSA Marriage Certificate or Report of Marriage and photocopy
  • PSA Birth Certificate of Mother, Affidavit of Illegitimacy, Affidavit of Recognition, and photocopies (if parents are not married)
  • Personal appearance of the minor, accompanied by any of the parents

For those with Mutilated Passport

  • Latest passport and photocopy of the data page
  • Accomplished application form
  • 2 copies of Affidavit of Mutilation
  • Your Hong Kong permanent ID card and a photocopy (for Hong Kong residents)
  • Your personal appearance
  • Data/biometrics/photo capturing will be done the next working day

Passport Fees and Schedule

  • Passport fee: HK$ 480*
  • Affidavit of Mutilation: HK$ 200* (as needed)
  • Processing time is 10 AM to 3 PM from Sunday to Thursday
  • Releasing time for passport extension is 10 AM to 3 PM from Sunday to Thursday

There are two ways to schedule an appointment: one is through the online appointment system, which is used in most embassies and PCGs worldwide, while the other via dropbox. Before Passport Renewal

Option 1: Via Online Passport Appointment System

  • Book an appointment online at the Online Passport Appointment System.
  • Click Schedule an Appointment.
  • Read the important reminders and Terms and Conditions, then tick the check box. Input your email address and click Send Confirmation.
  • Check your email, then click the link to proceed with the Passport Appointment. If you weren’t able to receive it within five minutes, email support@passport.gov.ph.
  • Proceed with the application by filling out the complete and accurate details of your passport renewal.

Option 2: Via Passport Appointment Dropbox

Drop the complete requirements at the drop box at the Metro Remittance Shop 2042-A 2nd floor, United Centre, Admiralty.

During Passport Renewal

During photo capturing and biometrics, there are several guidelines that you need to follow:

  • Wear a decent attire with a collar and sleeves for the photo capturing.
  • Contact lenses are allowed as long as it is the applicant’s natural eye color.
  • Wearing veils is accepted for medical and religious purposes.
  • Jewelry, accessories, false eyelashes, and eyeliners shall be removed for photo capturing.
  • Frizzy/afro hairstyles shall be neatly fixed to show the applicant’s face
    For those with surgically removed facial features such as moles, a medical certificate should be presented.

After Passport Renewal

  • The new passport shall be mailed to the applicant’s address through the HK Post’s mail service.
  • The ePassport application’s processing time is 6 to 12 weeks.
  • In case of an address change, notify the Consulate immediately via WhatsApp or Viber at 5241-5464.
  • Check the status of your passport via the Hong Kong Post’s website, then enter your tracking number.

  • Do not purchase outbound travel tickets until you have claimed your new passports.
