The Miss Universe 2016 pre-pageant activity kicked off in Shangri-la Boracay last Saturday with more than a dozen of delegates. While some of the delegates are enjoying in Boracay, Twenty candidates left Manila to visit the historic City of Vigan in Ilocos.

Along with our very own Miss Philippines Maxine Medina, Miss Universe candidates from Brazil, Malaysia, Venezuela, Guatemala, Spain, Bulgaria, Belgium, Dominican Republic, Great Britain explored Vigan last Sunday.

One of the main activities in Vigan is the “Terno Fashion Show” that featured Filipiniana dresses made by local fashion designers using local materials. The Terno Fashion show will also be attended by the reigning Miss Universe 2015 – Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.

During the press presentation, each candidate received personalized inabel blankets with their name embroidered on it. Inabel is an Ilocano final woven product made from cotton and other natural fibers.

The Miss Universe 2016 candidates also visited Baluarte, Chavit Singson’s vacation house with a private zoo.

The most awaited 65th Miss Universe pageant will be held on January 30, 2017 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
